We are taking risks on older players and players that have something to prove (gillespie  ). Under MON, Lenny, Muz, Gups, Sav were all nutured (sp.) into the LCFC way which we dont have anymore.
I was excited about the signing of Canero, as IMO he was a player like MON would have taken a punt. More of the like to follow. Please!!!!!!!!!

Spot on, I could not agree more. In today's market players like Muzzy and others would not cost the same as they did back then and these players do exist not only in the Fizzy leagues, but in other countries as well.

If you take in to consideration the wages a player from the lower leagues would be on compared to a player who's been plying his trade in the premiership for many years and is past his best you will find that the old hacker will be on about £100-200,000 more each year than the lower league player and that's being lenient. Now in the current transfer market a hot prospect from division two or three or players from scotland will only fetch around £250,000 and that possibly won't be paid upfront so you may have a few add ons that you pay a year or so down the line, but what i'm saying is on the whole scale of things getting some young potential in who are desperate to progress won't cost anymore than someone like Barry Hayles or Dougie Freedman would.

second div players are like a box of chocolates... you never know what ya gonna get. Where as with hayles i think you do.

Personally i want a younger player to, you have ya two old heads in dublin and hayles so a up and cummer would be good to go with them.

Dublin 34
Hayles 32

Ferdinand 38
Dickov 31

Micky has lowerd the combined age of our strickers by 3 years!!!! He's done what he said he would do!!!!!

One of the main things about re-building is doing things differently, I know unknown players are a gamble, but so are signing these so called experienced players who clearly aren't wanted by their previous clubs which doesn't bode well. It showed last season that signing aload of experienced players was as much of a gamble as signing some unproven young players. Canero looks alot better prospect than Curtis, Hignett or Howey looked for us! Get some zero's in and turn them in to hero's like O'Neill did, you always need some experience but don't over shag it.

What was the point in that post if you're not going to explain why Malf is wrong?

Because he's an absolute cock hole, he often disagrees with people with a one word answer like that. The thing that is shocking is the fact that what I said is probably true. Have a word with yourself twat.

Back to the original topic, the OS states today that season ticket sales are now at 13,100 which is alot better than I thought they would be. Attendances may not be that bad next season, a few exciting signings and the seson tickets may break 15,000. 8)

I actually think we'll beat 15k and get nearer 17k. There will be alot of singings made in the next week or so, and that will accelerate sales even further.

It's all good news. I still believe Euro 2004 is helping sales rise. I think we'll sell about 18000 season tickets before the start of the season.
