On all seasons there has been a difference between Classic/Premium (having a ST for 3-4 years) and Standard tickets, that could be seen as a loyalty discount but the previous years have also had specificly named 'loyalty discount' for all renewals (not just those renewing after 3-4 years).

Thanks for taking the time to do all this, Leigh. I had forgotten what a variety of prices there were. This is obviously what is being imagined as anomalous and I don't think anybody will be surprised when it's the club that profits from the sorting out of these 'anomalies' and none of the fans.

So where do their wages come from?

I wouldn't mind paying more money to see good quality players giving it their all, week in week out, but when asked to pay more to see the odd decent performance in amongst a season full of dross played out by a bunch of clueless tossers who don't give a flying f***, then I would lay some of the blame at their door, along with their agents.

There is also the fact that someone keeps on having to pay out contracts that pisses me off too. Why should the fans have to fork out for the apparent mismanagement of our club?

Your getting too emotional about it, I think the last few seasons prove that season ticket prices have no bearing on players or indeed football.

The only thing that does have a bearing on the price of season tickets is the club's wish to grab as much as they can from our wallets. The only limitations on it is their understanding of the law of diminishing returns. The days when football clubs could be regarded as public services or charities are long gone.

The ST money this year went to agents FACT .

i say fact as the FT posted about it on foxes talk :icon_wink

I don't know how many ST holders LCFC have, but say its 15,000, at an average say of £300, thats £4.5m. I don't think the agents took that. When published recently I think it was £1.1m to agents....:102:

got that a bit wrong it was posted on the FT site

Paul Aldridge said he was looking for the best use of Season Ticket money & it wouldn’t be blown on agents again.

If it was on the FT site they have got it wrong.

I think BG's estimate of the take from season tickets is a little small - hardly any of the STs cost under £300 and the total take would ahve been somewhat in excess of the £4.5M he estimated. He did get the payments made to agents about right though. Your assertion that agents got all the season ticket money therefore fails.

The mistake was in believing anything posted on foxestalk or posted by the trust.

I do agree but to post it on their site if not true could land them in all sort's of trouble ................................

AGM Q & A – Season Ticket Pricing Written by Ian Bason/Matt Davis Sunday, 23 March 2008 Today we start a series of articles covering some the main topics discussed during the Trust’s AGM where Milan Mandaric and Paul Aldridge took part in a Q & A session.
With Season Tickets for 2008/9 starting to be marketed by the club, we kick off the feature with a question from member Gary Beckwith from the evening
“Given yet another dismal season, what are your pricing plans for next season and will you continue with the Direct Debit no interest scheme form the current season which was a great idea"
Here are the key points from Paul Aldridge’s response

  • The club were working on prices (at time of the AGM) and an increase is needed
  • There are a number of anomalies that will take 2 or 3 years to iron out.
  • Due to those anomalies some Season Ticket Prices may not rise, while others may go up by as much as 15% (although subsequent discussion indicated less than 10%)
  • The club wants to extend & make more flexible the Direct Debit terms
  • Talked of a flexible monthly charge say £2 - £4, shorter term Direct Debits would attract a smaller monthly charge
  • Charge would only cover administration & ensure that fans paying up front are not subsidising instalment payments of others….
In response, Trust Member Ann Abson reminded Paul Aldridge that we weren’t West Ham and City fans were not earning London wages.
Paul Aldridge responded saying he was well aware that fans will vote with their feet and there is a finite number of people that will come to matches and they are looking for value for money.
Paul Aldridge said he was looking for the best use of Season Ticket money & it wouldn’t be blown on agents again.
Another Trust member suggested ticket prices should be based on performance, with a further member suggestion “so should player wages”, to which Paul Aldridge responded “try telling that to the PFA”.
Further selected topics discussed during the Q & A will appear on our website soon, while full coverage of the Q & A will appear in the next Trust member’s newsletter.

Can not now :icon_wink

of course it was small. I have no idea of the average cost or how many ST holders there are. Because it means nothing to me. I just needed the example to show the error and picked some approx figures

I'm agreeing with you and reinforcing your case against newton's false statement.
