So they have been telling the EFL for months that they are going through the selection process regards their preferred bidder and yet it seems that this guy only came back into the fold this week after his bid for Preston failed.

The whole thing, including him, seems utterly tin pot.

I have a feeling that Mike Ashley is playing the long game here. He’ll let everyone else talk a big game and then he’ll nip in at the last minute and get the club on the cheap. It’s his M.O. and purely as a money-making businessman you can’t fault him.

My local team and town. Such a shame that the town no longer has a team at Gigg lane but hopefully things will change soon.
