No issue with them singing, standing etc as I am well away from them. However I was stood in front of them at Burnley and the lad directly behind me was a bit "spitty". Every time he sang I got wet. So boys, sing all you want but keep your slobber to yourself. :icon_wink

How long before this gets edited

I generally support what the Fosse Boys claim to be doing. I am all for singing and positive noisy support.
However, I notice that the Fosse Boys seem reluctant to quote what is actually said in the ultimatum. The phrase used in Post 1 is "apparently complaints about us being too noisy" Why "apparently"? Does the club actually use that phrase - what is the clubs actual words?
If the club did make the level of noise the issue then that is an extraordinary thing for them to do - and for 22 people to complain about. It would be interesting to know the exact words of the ultimatum.

The club won't put anything in writing with them (even though they have their email addresses) It's always done via phone to someone who knows them.

Well I sit 6-7 rows in front of them in SK1 & I don't see the harm they are causing. If they want to stand and sing and shout their heads off, they are in the right place, at the back where they aren't causing a block of anyone's view. I have no problem with them, it added more atmosphere and certainly made me sing along more than I usually would in 'Silent Corner'.

Sounds like shit stirring to me, as if the club would actually refer to them all as "kids" ffs!

I agree. The latest development makes the whole business seem more surreal and more dubious.

There is an unnamed person who "is in contact with us and the club".
What does that mean? Is it an employee of the club? If so are we talking Lee Hoos or are we talking a steward or where in between.
Some an unnamed person refers to "kids" and is "apparently" (magic wiord again) pissed off.

My recent experience with HMV is that if businesses don't like e-mails they simply delete them. To piss them off you have to send registered letters.

It would be more convincing if someone from the club had said "the club welcomes the views of all the fans and takes them very seriously" or similar meaningless corporate twaddle.

Presumably this ultimatum came by letter. Why are we not told what was in the letter (the actual words). The letter will have a signature.
Whose signature?

My initial reaction to the Fosse Boys is to support them. If the club has behaved in the way that has been suggested I still supoport them.
However, the more reluctant they are to tell us what was in the letter the less credible their complaint seems.

I am sorry Babylon but this seems even more bizarre. The club is unhappy with the behaviour of the Fosse Boys but will not put it in writing. Instead someone at the club is ringing friends of the Fosse Boys to warn them off like cheap Mafia hoods.

A proper letter would say:
Dear Mr Babylon,
The club has received a number of complaints from spectators in yoir area that people have been ______. I regret to inform you that unless this behaviour ceases the club will reluctantly instruct the stewards to eject offenders.
Yours sincerely
A B Jobsworth

Frankly I think the Fosse Boys should simply carry on. An ultimatum by phone is not worth the paper it is written on.

I don't see the harm, they are just singing for the team, is that not what you do at matches???

:018: No. Everyone should sit down and be quiet. That way I can enjoy my cucumber sandwiches and flask of weak coffee properly.

*Visitors from Foxestalk please note: this post is entirely facetious and should not be taken seriously at all. If you don't know what facetious means get your mum to look it up for you.

Considering some of the shite that comes out from our club (takeovers that aren't approved etc) how can people claim our club wouldn't take the approach suggested to contact the Fosse Boys?? It sounds very much like an unprofessional thing to do and therefore extremely likely in my opinion.

I love the weak coffee bit.:)

Probably down to the fact they haven't done anything wrong, it's just scare tactics from someone in the club I'd imagine. If they put it in writing about receiving 22 complaints about them being too noisy then they can't deny ever saying it. Do it via phone and the club can deny all knowledge of the conversation taking place.

People should definitely be careful taking what's being said on FT as fact though, I think the facts may be embellished for effect somewhat. A bit like the "kids" line. It's since been admitted that they never said that, just that they thought everyone emailing them were just from the Fossboys (who are a bunch of kids basically).

Having read through all the various posting on FT seems like the complaints were about noise, but the veiled threats about 'if you do what you did against Boro' etc. is all about the standing up

They want to stand up for the full ninety minutes, bouncing up and down and singing

Well they can't

I'm all for them making an effort - fair play to them - but their main beef is the fact they won't be allowed to stand up for the whole game

They're on to a loser

I bet the two senior stewards that were trying to sit them down last timewill be more than willing to eject them now that they have the go-ahead.

They seem to think that they have a god given right to disobey the rules "because we sing all game for the boys innit".

Pretty much well summed up. The letters are the club's reasoning for validation in taking this stance.

Without sounding snobby and reading some the e-mail's post on FT, I can see why the club dismissed them as kids.....:icon_roll. Sometimes I think mass 'writing-in' like that can have a negative effect depending on the quality and intelligence of the complaint.

Also - can't see it alienating the club. Much.

I can't believe I just did that 'much' thing!

Haha!

They certainly don't seem to take on board that they need to go about it the right way... ie. Sit your ass down sometimes.
