After that we need to continue to clear the decks of the likes of Hayes, Weso (gone) and keep the squad lean and eager to impress. Any players just 'hanging around' can drag the squad down, which is not what we need for this season.

Hayes has gone to Inverness.

I am not particularly looking forward to watching Nathan Dyer have a go at any of our left-backs.

They may have a similar feeling regarding our Dyer.

Hahaha...no Fryatt in starting side, 5 subs, King as a defensive holding midfielder and player we've yet to sign...great stuff.

How?

Correct.

Even though he has none of the requisite skills?

Did you pick him up from the airport?

I think King could easily play there, please give a reason why he can't?

If Waghorn don't sign before Saturday then fair enough, but he will.

Because he can't tackle.

And this assertion is based on what?

Wellens can do the tackling, and King can get the ball and distribute it out wide and up front.

Erm, Sky Sports said he is set to sign, the Darlo page says he has chosen to go Leicester for the season or something along those lines.

King can't tackle and hasn't got the strength required to play as a holding midfielder.

I would go with:

Weale

Morrison
Brown
Hobbs
Berner

Oakley
King
Wellens
Dyer

Howard
N'Guessan

Subs:
Fryatt
Logan
Mattock
Tunchev
Chambers
O'Neill
Gradel

Which page? Where? What exactly does it say?

Darlington manager Colin Todd has been unsuccessful in his pursuit of loan targets Martyn Waghorn and Jack Colback from Sunderland as they have today both completed long term loan moves to Championship clubs.

Todd has made no secrets about his desire to recruit Waghorn to bolster his striking options but he will no have to look elsewhere after Steve Bruce today confirmed that the South Shields born striker will be joining newly promoted Leicester City on loan for the season.

Todd also experessed his desire at last night's fans forum to bring in Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback on loan but that link has also today been brought to an end as Colback will link up with his former manager Roy Keane at Ipswich Town for this season.

It remains to be seen if Todd still expects to bring in two loan players before Saturday's curtain raiser at Aldershot.

Just in case you are not just taking the piss and winding him up again,

here: http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12875_5472375,00.html

and here: http://fansonline.net/darlington/article.php?id=524

and it's late so use the sarcastic smilie in future so we don't have to guess if you are winding him up.

I wasn't winding him up. I checked all the Darlington pages on the SkySports website and could find no reference to what he appeared to be talking about. Neither of the pages you quote fit that description, but thanks for pointing them out.
