If we play a back four, Fuchs will still get my vote as the better defender plus the bonus of his long throw.
Chilwell may develop into a good LWB but he is not there yet.

I am not optimistic about the season but when I think of a spine made up of Schmeichel, Evans, Maguire, Ndidi, Maddision and Vardy I feel better. I also have a feeling that Mendy may become a useful player.

Agreed, players take time to settle so it wouldn’t be unreasonable for one or two of the so called poor acquisitions to come good.

I think that’s a fair appraisal, though I’m not fully convinced about Evans who struggled in spells last year.
