I agree if we can get him fit then great, and I doubt we could replace a fully fit Hughesy as he is a cracking player, but on the evidence of this season I am beginning to have grave doubts over his injury record, and whether we will ever get the opportunity to see a fully fit Stephen Hughes for any sustained run of matches. I sincerely hope I am wrong but the way he keeps appearing for one match at a time then misses another 4 or 5 is really beginning to concern me.

You have hit the nail on the head Steve! He isn't and hasn't been 100% fit this season. They keep patching him up with these injections, its bollox!! He should have been given the right treatment to cure his injury, i believe if this was done intially after that pre season game he would now be fit or very close to being fit!

I read it but your valuation is way off, if he would even pass a medical.

All I am saying is get him treated properly rather than patching him up. I would wait til the end of the season for that.

durhamfox the problem is if say the club left hughes to get better over a longer period you run the risk of a morris situation where he doesnt play at all gets injured in training etc. I agree the rehab is obviously not right but there are always players that I would class as injury prone and hughes seems to be one of them, and how much did we pay for him? Is there no reason why that kind of transfer cant be repeated.
