That's a shame - a bit of beheading of noblemen would get these Tory ****s back in line.

Anyhow, did Jeremy and Jocasta make it back to Oxford OK? Those Media Studies courses won't attend themselves you know.

It's a 'study day' today

Next lecture is on Tuesday afternoon - but it's not compulsory

Of course not. But their relatively small number of seats put them in an inordinately powerful position; a position which they have squandered. In their scramble for power, they have given up on their principles.
Which begs the question...why did the students protest outside the Tory HQ and not the Lib Dem one, or did I miss that part?

It might prompt the question. "Begging the question" means something different, but I did understand your meaning.

The answer is that probably neither the students nor the attached riff-raff are bright enough to know where the LibDem HQ is.

It strikes me that all education should be paid for. :)

Thank you for your patronising understanding Captain Grammar Facist.

No problem. It might be worth pointing out though that it's a matter of vocabulary and nothing to do with grammar.

:038::038::038: A rare find: someone who actually knows what 'beg the question' means. Cheers Boc, made my day that has.

Glad to have been of service.

I find the attitude to students on here laughable tbh. Talk about ridiculous sweeping statements and generalisations.

Interestingly University is still relatively cheap here in comparison to the other top Academic nations. Some of my American friends pay $40,000 a year for tuition alone!

And in regards to protests, this is the tip of the iceberg. I expect there will be bigger more violent protests in the new year

There are other 'top academic nations' besides the US. Canada and Australia also charge fairly high fees but almost everywhere else is way cheaper. Finland is often cited as the 'top academic nation' yet university education there is free.

****ing students. You'd have thought that since they're paying for an education they might have learnt something - even if it's only to check their facts.
