HEAD TO HEAD

The two clubs have met 26 times in the past, 22 of them with league points at stake. Leicester have won six and drawn five of the 13 meetings at Filbert Street. This will be the Swans' first ever visit to Leicester.

EARLY MEETINGS

The first ever meeting between the clubs came in the F A Cup in December 1914. Swansea Town, as they were in those days, won 1-0 at the Vetch Field. It was the last ever F A Cup tie played by Leicester Fosse, and the last time that this club has played in the qualifying competition of the senior domestic knockout trophy. Swansea's first visit to Leicester was also in the F A Cup, in January 1929, when City won 1-0. The initial league clashes came in Division Two in 1935-36, with both clubs winning their home fixture.

RECENT HISTORY

The two clubs last met in the League Cup in 1986. City won the home leg 4-2, with Steve Moran netting a brace, to follow up a 2-0 first leg win in South Wales. The most recent league clashes came back in 1979-80, when the clubs shared the points at Filbert Street.

BIGGEST WINS

In fact, our last home league win over Swansea was back in November 1955, when Willie Gardiner's hat-trick set up a 6-1 romp. Curiously, the return fixture the following March at the Vetch Filed, then ended 6-1 to the Swans, with Terry Medwin netting a treble.

SEQUENCES

Since that thrashing, Leicester remain unbeaten in the last six meetings.

DEBUTANTS

Just six players have made their Leicester bow against Swansea in the past: Jack Bowers, Vernon Chapman, Tommy Godwin, John Ogilvie, Reg Warner and, most recently in 1980, Geoff Scott. Ogilvie, incidentally, is the only City player ever to be sent off against the Swans, in that 1-6 humiliation in 1956.

FOOT IN BOTH CAMPS

The smattering of players to have represented both clubs over the years includes Nick Cusack, Jack Haines, George Heyes, Robbie James, Dave Puttnam, Paul Reid and Alan Waddle. Colin Appleton, Micky Adams and Nick Cusack have all occupied the managerial chair for Swansea.
