TBH I think you spinning that massively, only Logan and Stearman could be classed as first team regulars really.

And only Stearman is anywhere near Championship class

And he only achieves that in only one game in three

Not sure, I was told £2-3million for Rk but don't know if more would be used for other things.

I assume for Jan but not 100% sure.

Thanks mate, I am actually quite positive about the future of our club, one way or the other additional funds would appear to be being made available to strengthen the first team squad, either in the guise of Milan Mandaric or the existing board.

But I would imagine that worse case scenario that 2 to 3 million if spent wisely in January at this level, could make a massive difference to our chances this season and beyond.

Our academy may look good, but it produces nothing. Have you seen the youngsters strolling up to the ground on matchday with chewing gum and headphones totally oblivious to the world around them. They need a change of attitude.

Also if you consider a big dome with nothing in it, top class facilities, then this is what we have.

The academy has produced nothing so far, and I'm afraid it doesn't look like it will either

Or, if blown on a load of crap, puts us in exactly the same position as we are now

The reason I think its unlikely is proven history, how many were there 2 years ago? 4 years ago??

2 years ago and 4 years ago we didn't take the youth team seriously, we're doing that now, and it's paying off.

I think Wesolowski has proved to be good enough for this level, along with Stearman and Logan.
I think the likes of Sheehan, Porter and O'Grady will make a career out of football, but at what level remains to be seen.
But according to you if three of the current youth team make at this level the odds are 10,000 to 1. We've managed it once, so why not again? Our current under 18s team is doing better than I can ever remember.

But that could happen with Mandaric's investment as well. To be honest a lot of the responsibility will lie with Rob Kelly and his judgement in players. It will be interesting to see his list of targets and his ability to attract a higher calibre of player when armed with a decent transfer kitty.

But MM might bring a "helper" in to oversee the spending, or indeed rearrange the spending responsibilities

Wesolowski, Piper, Logan, Stearman, Porter, O'Grady, Magunda, Mattock, Chambers, Odihambo, Dodds........

And if you think the big dome is the only thing we have there then you need to do a bit more investigating.

Stearman broke through several seasons ago and Logan has only just broke through this season.

Spot on. They must have huge faith in RK's ability to spend money wisely!

But that would be the same with any manager and any owner. Even the best managers can make expensive mistakes. Kelly has no previous track record of operating in the transfer market with any sizeable budget and for that reason he must be given a fair and reasonable opportunity.

I don't think that lists fuels your point Dunc, sorry.

This is the case with most young people and footballers in general.

City's Academy currently is doing very well and producing more players than most at this level.

I look at when Forest a few years back, they brought a mass amount of youngsters in the team and they didnt do well. They struggled and as of it got relegated but we are keeping our head well above relegation currently with a number of academy grads in the team.

I cant think of many other Championship teams or in the local area which have produced the players who are adequate at this level.

And also got so many dropped youth players still plying their trade elsewhere in the Football League.

Well if nothing else it shows its produced a list of players you don't know or that you think aren't very good.
It shows me a list of players that I wouldn't depend on for the future success of my club. All of these players could have been brought in free. I don't think these players represent a serious investment opportunity for us, not enough to justify spending (x) on their development
