I want your car. Give it to me for nothing, as the £x thousand you want for it could be put to better use. :icon_bigg

haha seems like a cracking deal ;)

Isn't reporting supposed to show a balance though, BA's coverage has been completely pro MM & critical of the board/shareholders on every occasion

Yes it is, to a point, although most editors will require their reporters to represent the feelings of the newpapers' consumers, which is why you get endless trite on Jade Goody and the like in the red-top tabloids, but not in The Guardian. BA is reporting from the fans' angle and is, like most fans, questioning the process of the deals' negotiating.
Lazy journalism? Probably, badly researched facts? almost definitely, typical British journalism? Predictably.

If you personally put in say £100k, would you be happy to receive nothing back, so MM can walk away with profits in x years time?

We believe the majority of shareholders are willing to hand over the club now, allow money invested now & in the immediate future to be utilised funding the squad/club & then receive payment for their shares at a much later date.

Which should have been the case from the off set. If this is ready to go, then the deal should be ready to put the ink on it upon MM's return, all being well with his Mum.

Yes, if I had the personal wealth of say David Wilson.

If its such a nailed on certainty that MM will sell us on for huge profits why arent all these business men telling MM to sling his hook and ploughing in a very small percentage of their considerable wealths to make the profit instead??

Lets just all stop being ridiculous and admit some home truths. this deal is as good as dead. I am coming to terms with it and might I say feel better for it.

Lets move on.

I'm sticking with naively believing it will happen, we'll get some decent players in on loan if the transfer window has passed, and everything we'll be rosy again. I'm also believing all the crap on football rumours ;)

Stupid and naiive, but its gives me hope.

Duzza, I think it's a bit of a sweeping statement to say all forty odd of the shareholders have immense wealth. Even if they did, in their position I might think a multi-millionaire like MM should pay something for my shares because, make no mistake, he is out to increase the value of those shares many times over. Anyway, it seems that all the payment for the shares is to be deferred, and the price may well depend on the team's performance, i.e., if they don't get promoted in four years you get nuppence for the shares.

It would have been if I said it :icon_wink

The only way that MM would sell us on at a huge profit would be by being successful. This means he would invest - which the current board can't or won't .....and above all, the club has to be managed in a better way than it is now.

This is also the best chance of existing stakeholders getting their investments back.

The fact that the club is now more or less paralysed in terms of bringing in new blood and is stuck towards the bottom of the league - with miserable prospects as it stands for next season both playing and financial wise - should be enough to say "bring on the deal". But sadly it all looks messed up now.

Only us and Southampton have not spent any money in the championship, and we have managed to get rid of:-

Out
Low - up to £100k
Sylla - Terminated Contract
Welsh - Terminated Loan Agreement
O'Grady - £65k

In
Cadamarteri - £0 (In December as was out of contract).

So that is wages and and money in. Yet still nothing the current board can sanction to bring in a replacement on an already threadbare squad.

The decline will continue unless the status quo is changed (Pictures of matchstick men anyone?)

In the summer RK admitted spending more than was in the budget, my guess is the board probably took the gamble hoping we'd somehow get the resuts to bring in higher numbers of fans and it would balance itself out. As we haven't got the results, we haven't had the fans in (at full price at any rate) and now the shite has hit the fan.

don't know about Pictures of Matchstick Men I think it's more a case of Down, Down, Deeper and Down (or however it goes)

I think the terminology you are looking for is fcuked :)

So what exactly is driving Bill Anderson's agenda ?
- that is a question few fans seem to be asking

Interesting, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if BA has agreed a substantial donation to his pension pot for his support, no doubt stuffed in a brown envelope (tax free).

MM is not looking for this deal though, he wants the club for nothing.

It has been rumoured, as is the case with your comment, that he is looking to pay back some money at some stage. If someone has concrete evidence to the contrary, then that is fine but...

What are the alternatives to MM? If MM was thought to be the best deal on the table at the time, why then the griping now about how much he was putting forward to the shareholders? The board have been working to try and get this deal through, which in my mind speaks volumes of the other options open to us...

Like Ice In The Sun, this deal is melting away

Can you explain how MM will sell the club for a profit without first investing?
To whom will he sell it in it's current state for a profit?

I think you are wrong to complain about Bill Andersons biased reporting. He has been doing it for years, no complaints from your lot until he turns on you. You have to earn some credit before people start to have belief in what you say, the credit the FT had banked prior to this takeover bid was none, so how can you expect fans like me to side with you now?
