Talking Ballers for Managers Job

Hmmm ... I've been doing a bit of research and it seems St Francis is attributed to this statement in his prayer but Maggie Thatcher was heard to quote it and I'm starting to think Rodney Marsh probably said it too. Trick question I'm thinking. :icon_conf

OG, can you please inform Alan Maybury that he is no longer needed at the club, and also to ask Elvis Hammond to remove his hand from my bottom?

You were a bit silly to let him put it in to begin with...

Here's a one qestion quiz to TB'ers who said
'where there is discord, may we bring harmony'
A. Margaret Thatcher
B. St Francis
C. Rodney Marsh

Correct answer was A & B as corrrectly stated by Steven & Newton. Trick question. Fox-in-Oz got it after a bit of research. This now puts Steven in the frame as TB managerial candidate for the vacant LCFC post. I want somene with a little brains in post.

No-one commented on the irony of Maggie Snatcher of all people having the temerity to quote this, given the attitudes and agenda she had in mind for the country. I would have given anyone pointing this out the job outright.

To whom it may concern:

Due to private reasons that must remain private, I have to publically withdraw my application for the vacant position at Leicester City. This has nothing to do with my agent wanting to get me exposure in the newspapers so as to make me appear 'in demand'.

In light of my private, private reasons it may seem odd that I am touting myself to Premiership clubs but the eventual result that will leave me as jobless as I am now will probably surprise no one.

Rest assured, full details of my private reasons will be made public in the book about my private life that will be written by someone else with all the charisma of a five year old maths prodigy.

Did Maggie say "where there is discord, may we bring harmony" before or after she went into the Falklands? Or maybe she was misquoted and actually said "where there is discobob, may we bring harmony"? :icon_conf

Consty, the post is 'ours' as in OG and me, you know that.

I didn't say you were not front runners.
However in this great democracy of ours it's the TB viewers in the privacy of their homes who decide with their nominations! The will of the people must prevail.
So TB'ers get off those porn sites, leave the jug thread and do your democratic duty.

Foxin - she said it well before. She quoted these words from St Francis in 1979 outside no.10 immediately after her election victory before she walked in as premier for the first time. The irony of the quote was not that she had the Falklands in mind - nobody did as that remote island of sheep shaggers had never beeen heard of until 1982 - the irony was that she had an agenda of discord and strife explicitly in mind for the nation. She was determined to take on and destroy the working class/union movement, to de-industrialise and wreck communities, to escalate the Cold War & roll-back the Welfare State. Thus 'harmony' was definately not in prospect in her premiership - and she knew it.

Oddly enough, there is no other hair product I would consider using.

Don't ever change Bob, you are without a doubt unique. This forum wouldn't be the same without your Pythonesque brand of lunacy. :038::icon_bigg

She certainly has a lot to answer for. But the cartoonists and comedians of the day are probably forever in her debt. :icon_wink

That is true.
BTW, Thatcher herself was notoriously lacking in a sense of humour. Mind you if you were married to Denis and had Norman Tebbit as your right hand man, it was not suprising.
However appointing Nick Ridley to the cabinet did prove she could occasionally be funny.
