Finally, this year's photos. I'm sure you've all been wetting yourselves with anticipation...

Not for the first time in this thread, a Short-eared Owl (in many ways Jeff's phone photo was better)

Rufous-backed-Robin-Santa-Cruz-Flats-11-0116-07.jpg
I was lucky to find a particularly rare bird in January which lots of people from around Arizona and other parts of the US have been to see. It's a Rufous-backed Robin, the Mexican equivalent of an American Robin. It was still feeding in the same fruiting trees last week apparently.

One of the best wildlife spectacles I've ever seen takes place every winter in SE Arizona, the daily gathering of about 20,000 Sandhill Cranes at a place called Whitewater Draw. I've been employed quite a few times this winter to take people there and talk about cranes, which I can now do for longer than is healthy. Cool thing to see though, especially when you're getting paid at the same time!

It's an amazing experience! I got some better photos last week which I'll bore you with at a later date.

More of the same...

And yet more Sandhill Cranes. It really is a magical experience. Anyway, that's it for cranes this winter, you'll be glad to know.

More ducks...

I'm almost up to date with all this shit now. Although I'm going out next week specifically to take some punters out to get wildlife photos, so no doubt there will be loads more. Oh joy.
