Northern Cardinal.


Yellow-rumped Warbler.


Rufous-winged Sparrow. Not the most exciting of birds to look at, but it's rare - the entire world range is effectively a bit of southern Arizona and a strip to the coast in the next state south, Sonora in Mexico.


Verdin, a common desert bird.

Last few, scenic photos (taken with the phone) of some of the better birding sites down here.


Arivaca Cienega. (According to my tenuous grasp of Spanish, Cienega means '100 waters', a marsh)


California Gulch, or at least, a nice hill near California Gulch.


Sweetwater Wetlands, a place in Tucson where I take many of these photos. They are old sewage ponds, so it's not exactly sweet and technically it isn't water!

I am hoping to take lots of random type pics next Friday as me and the bestest and her lot are off down to London to take in the atmosphere of the Royal Wedding.

Couldn't give a monkeh's about the actual wedding, but it's a day off work(YAY!) and a good chance to take different sort of photos from football and cats!
