Bit of a boring one, but a bird that is found round here and practically nowhere else, a Bendire's Thrasher.

Coati-Granites-10-1220-10.jpg
Having seen only my second White-nosed Coati in Arizona a few weeks before, I saw my third to 20th in one go. This is a big male (a Coatimundi) following the scent of a troop of 17 females and young ones that passed through 30 minutes previously.

Why thank you :)

I had a truly bizarre day yesterday. My friend is a white water kayaking expert here in Arizona and a couple of months ago he was approached by a TV production company in Britain about a TV show. To cut a long story short, yesterday I spent the day with Freddie Flintoff and Iwan Thomas. They were kayaking, I was carrying camera equipment, etc. Hilarious! Photos to follow...

I think this is on tv now

Hey DF, the golfers are in your neck of the woods? You going to grab some pics for the British newspapers?

Edit: they're at Dove Mountain.

Tempting thought but I probably wouldn't recognise any of them. And if you'll pardon the expression, any chance I get this week, I'd rather take my new girlfriend up the wetlands instead.

:)

A few more phone photos. I'm still catching up - these are from Christmas.

Chiricahuas-10-1230-04.jpg
My car in the snow, with a guy who hired me to find him some birds high in the Chiricahua mountains. In a blizzard. We didn't really find many birds.

Here are some with the big lens.

I like this one, a Burrowing Owl. I had to zoom out slightly as it was about eight feet away.
