A friend of mine has just texted me to say that we have been linked with Patrick Viera on local Manchester radio. Would be freakin awesome at our level.

But, why? We have Yuki Abe who is more than capable in this league. I don't particularly want Patrick Viera to be a bench-warmer, as I'm sure does he. We have a strong midfield. I don't think we need to add to it this season.

Sven has openly admitted that we play 3 in midfield because it isn't strong enough. I personally think Viera would bring a much needed plan B (or plan A as the case may be) to the team.

And I'm afraid I rather got distracted. Speculate if you will as to what distracted me. I don't remember myself to be honest.

I'd rather see us bring in a permanent midfield signing.
