According to the Mail, Chris Kirkland and Scunthorpe's Josh Lillis are alternatives to Schmeichel if he doesn't come. I think Lillis is a new name to be linked.

They also say we're hoping to sign Lee Peltier for £750k today.

If we sign Peltier I think we can finally say goodbye to any hope of Naughton coming back here, either on loan or permanently. It'd be daft to spend the best part of a million quid on a right back and then bring Naughton back in on Loan or pay millions of pounds for him. A big shame IMO.
