Re: Rumours Thread

But that old pot was empty, these deals have re-filled it and the money is now there to be spent.
... on the current wage bill, stadium payments, etc. All the usual "running a football club" stuff. It's no different to last season.

As a company we are still, no doubt, making substantial losses. Anything above and beyond the usual will HAVE to come from MM or another outside investor.

Re: Rumours Thread

I live in the West Midlands and I hear Stoke are close to signing Hendrie. Hope we get him though, I think he'd be a very good player for us.

My 2 cents worth, if his injurys are as bad as reported, i say stay away from this signing. He might be over the top.

Few quotes from Stoke fans.

Excuse me but do we think that we would get value for money out of Lee Hendrie at £10,000-£15,000 per week,i think not. When he first came he set the club alight just by his very presence but his return was blighted by injuries and under-par performances (especially away).

It will be interesting to see whether Hendrie signs or not. The decision is his or rathetr his agent's. I am one of those who is unsure of his value: I would be pleased if he stayed but not unduly dismayed if her did not.

This Hendrie nonsense is a distraction from the real concerns for next season; that we need a good striker, a consistent creative midfielder who can last a full season (not Hendrie!),

Towards the end of last season I was not over impressed by Hendrie and I never considered him to be exceptional.I would not rate him in the £10,000 to £15000 a week bracket and certainly not the £20,000 plus Villa were paying him.A view apparently shared by Martin O,Niel. His age and injuries are a cause for concern and we have enough 20/25 games a season players without adding to them.Last season has gone so lets start again---younger and fitter and fully signed.

Since christmas lee hendrie wasnt anything special, he was frequently injured or unfit and never looked to have anything about him when he did play! If is name wasnt lee hendrie he wouldnt have played?

But that old pot was empty, these deals have re-filled it and the money is now there to be spent. Its not coming out of MM's coffers.

I think Milan's plan is to try and get us into the Prem this year and spend less than 3 million of his own money in total (Inc buying the club), making him an absolutely massive stack of cash. And in all truth I hope he does it!

Do you honestly think we will get the sponsorship millions up front? Like Jeff said elsewhere they will be tied in with performance, so yes, if we get up to the premiership we may get an extra million form Walkers for the stadium, or Topps for the shirt, but they certainly won't be "refilling the coffers" at the moment.

Re: Rumours Thread

from the mockery...

Both Mandaric and Allen are away until the weekend so there are not going to be any significant transfer moves until then.

Charlton defender Radostin Kishishev, who is available on a free transfer, is the latest name to be linked with City.

He joins Arjan De Zeeuw, Bruno N'Gotty, Lee Hendrie and Richard Cresswell in being rumoured for a move to the Walkers Stadium.

But Mandaric said: "There is nothing set to be done this week.

"But the aim has always been to strengthen for next season and that will be done

thats it now we can all shut up till next week;)

And where else will we be able to speculate, hypothesise, pontificate and generally talk out of our arses whilst pretending we know more about running our football team than Martin and Milan?

Re: Rumours Thread

Was just about to post the same FKA - just read the article. Appears to be pure speculation rather than having any substance to it (not that we do that on here at all) :icon_wink :icon_lol:

Fryatt is selling his house in Lichfield. ;)

Re: Rumours Thread

Sell on clauses are usually based on the club getting a percentage of the profit made on the sale. If they think we'd get more for him now than what we paid for him they obviously didn't see him play last season.

I barely saw him play last season.;)
