Re: Rumours Thread

Good enough for the Scottish champions but not good enough for perenial relegation battlers in the second tier of English football? :102:

lets face it the scottish league isnt that great theres only 2 or maybe 4 half decent teams in the league...he is past it imo he would do better teaching the younger ones :102:

thats true, the other reason is he doesnt have to be that fit to play in the scottish league, its not like he even has to train because the league is poor based on quality, a team that is like 20 so points ahead of the second place team in that sort of league is shameful, even the coference league is more closer competitive wise,

i would love to have lennon as a player coach only based on him coaching more than playing and him losing a lot of weight so he is fit enough to play at least a good 70minutes, coaching wise he will still need to lose weight to coach the team if he they have to run and he has to join in on the fitness training.

Re: Rumours Thread

I am not sure where you get the good role model bit from Durham (attitude on the pitch?). The way he allegedly abused his body in his early years (not sure about recently) is hardly going to get the likes of Stearman staying off the ale and being professional if he becomes coach?

I would welcome him back in some capacity, but I fear that some have too high expectations of the impact he could have either as a player or a coach.

Re: Rumours Thread

If we don't want any drinkers at the club then Taggs should also be taken out of the coaching setup. And we shouldn't touch Coleman with a barge-pole.

Re: Rumours Thread

I'm amazed really. Lennon has quality, something we sadly lack. Granted he isn't the fittest player in the world but I think he would stroll in to our side.

thatd be probably all he could manage :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

'Jamie Cureton will demand a transfer in the summer if the U's are, as expected, not promoted. Watford, Leicester and Southampton are all waiting in the wings to sign the striker who has bagged 25 goals for the Essex side since their promotion. Geraint Williams will want around 1.5 million for the former Reading striker although money is not likely to be an issue for the Hornets, Foxes or Saints in the summer. And Chris Coleman will be revealed as the new foxes boss shortly but will not be bringing former assistant Steve Kean with him as he is considering taking over as boss of Bradford in the summer. Peter Beagrie will be his assistant.'

Re: Rumours Thread

but their captain and key midfielder during their recent championship isnt good enough for us. I am bemused.

But the SPL is not the same type of Football has the Championship, you get plenty of time on the ball against the likes of Dunfermline and St Mirren.I wouldn't say it was their Key Midfielder, they have plenty i.e Hartley,McGeady,Nakamura. He'd be ok here in a Player Coach role but not as a first choice,he couldn't last the pace down here
