Re: Rumours Thread
No idea but I am just saying you'd feel slightly pissed off now that they want you all of a sudden. I see it's a footballing situation which means that normal logic doesnt apply.
If you apply for a job at a company three or four times and they rejected you every time. And then you join a smaller company, you become very good at you're job and then you're headhunted, two companies the same size come in for you. One company is that one you applied three or four times for, you'd tell them to feck off because they didnt want you in the same place and go with the other big company.
I am not being hard on City. City could be anybody else - a footballing club, a company, a bank....
My use of Derby was a bad 'un but say Southampton or a Preston come in for him.
Hazz, you seem to have a bit of a downer on the club for some reason...
Firstly, is there anything other than a rumour that we, along with several other clubs, are interested? No. Hardly "flies round shit" is it?
He was rejected once by City, I don't know where you got the "always" from (just to make it sound more dramatic I suspect). The fact that he went to play for Quorn next probably justifies the decision, as he was obviously not good enough at that time.
He's not scored at a "higher level" at all; in fact, he didn't look that good in the Championship last year, but he's done well in League 1 this season.
He and his family are well known to be City fans. I saw his folks away at Crewe - city shirts with Varney on the back.
If there was a choice between Leicester and most other teams (unless you're talking big time, which we aren't), then I suspect he would come straight to Leicester.
But do we want him?
