MDV looks let to leave

I knew Levein was bad but he has taken it to new levels. He must surely have learnt his lesson after having MDV at two clubs.

He says "I could do with someone who can hold the ball up and be a goal threat." He must see something i and most don't.

It's no coincidence that the side he has been playing for over the past year have been relegated. Says it all for me!

Here are some stats I've gleaned for Fryatt's and MDV's LCFC careers to date (which I'm not claiming to be 100% accurate; it's just what I found on t'internet - someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

MDV - cost 50K
31 starts (+ 20 sub) - 10 goals

Fryatt - cost ?500K + addons?
41 starts (+ 12 sub) - 10 goals

From that I don't think it's even remotely possible to argue that Fryatt has been better value (not neccasarily a better player)... so far. Hopefully Fryatt can fulfill his undoubted potential but at the moment he's way off.

statistics dont lie................I always felt sorry for MDV.

Personally I would rather have some donkey playing for us who scores goals on a regular basis, than some fancy dan who thinks he can score but doesn't. Goals are all that matters and winning is all that matters and nothing else

What do you mean if? According to those stats he does have a better record.

The point in starting the player with the worse record is because he is a much better all-round player who adds a lot more to the team, can actually control the ball and go past a player. How can you actually say you would rather MDV play than Fryatt, did you ever see him play?

I really hope MDV comes back to the Championship, far away from us I may add, just to see who scores the most goals next season, I know who I would put my money on and it certainly wouldn't be that donkey!

Going by your comments on this forum, I am beggining to think that you would rather see MDV and Elvis up front ahead of Hume and Fryatt?

Been informed that we may be about to sign Leon Constantine from Port Vale now they have signed a replacement (Richards from Barnsley). Info from someone who works at Vale park, says its free transfer and although awkward player he scores goals (26 this season).
I cant see anyone coming in before a manager but this guy would be a different striking option( similar to MDV but scores plenty)

I bet I saw most MDV games as well as Fryatt, how many did you see. Now please read this and try and understand it, the idea of football is to scores as many goals as you can to win a game. A non scoring fancy dan does not win games, but a player who does score goals has a better chance of winning the games for his team.
I could not give a single flying feck if the player in question does nothing all game but pops a goal in for us on a regular basis. I agree MDV was miles away from being one of our better players, but his scoring record does not lie, and you cannot expect a Del Piero for £50K. How much did Fryatt cost again?
We will also see next season if Fryatt was really held back by these so called injuries, or if it was more to do with the rumour of being caught playing away with a so called casino worker or does he just get injured when the going gets tough? I really hope it was his injuries that held him back, but he was crap at Barnsley
In an ideal world we could do with a George Best, who produced great footballing skills with a knack of scoring..... but we wont attract that type of player will we

So you would play MDV ahead of Fryatt?

Also the fact the Fryatt has had such a great manager behind him has helped. :icon_roll

I know we can't get the likes or Rooney and Ronaldo or even anywhere near that standard of player, but Fryatt is a lot closer than MDV is to being that type of quality player.

If there were a poll on here, who would you rather play? MDV or Fryatt, I know which one would win, and it would be quite convincing.

Forget Fryatt how about Hammond I don't see all the MDV haters mentioning Hammond who cost 5 times as much.MDV is an easy target,I thought he was ok for a £50,000 Striker

Hammond is not even worth the effort of typing. In fact, I probably would rather have MDV play ahead of Elvis.
