If you allow sentiment to guide you, you'll end up with Gallagher on a 4 year deal again. We need to be clinical, a one year deal with the option of another seems sensible to me.

There were far more stupid elements driving that Gallagher deal than sentiment, but I get your point.

On Nugent: don't mind us letting him move on...but I hope we have a bloody good replacement lined up. I think Nugent was a big part of what made the team so consistent last season. His attitude and approach are always spot on.

It is all still paper/agent noise though. A few weeks ago he was poised to sign according to the same sources, so none can be trusted.

I'd be happy for him and Vardy to have a go in the PremLeagueThing and see what they can do, they seemed to work well together. If PeaSoup is saying that if Nuge is to stay it'll be on the bench, who/what is going to be the staring striker lineup?

I believe we were linked with him before.

Not entirely sure I would like us to sign a league 1 defender for the Premier League but hey ho.

How about signing a Conference striker for the Championship?

He's very highly rated by Sheff U and they are unlikely to let him go for anything less than that quoted. But they are not meant to be a selling club anymore so they reckon.
One for the future I think and we already have one in Moore, so not sure this will happen.

Article stating that Peter Taylor turned down the chance of getting Zlatan to Leicester! Makes Taylor seem even more of a Twat, doesn´t it?

It is interesting that Jimmy Nielsen is highly rated. He impressed Martin Allen enough to be called "the new Peter Schmeichel" but not enough for Allen to ever pick him. Clearly he did not impress Gary Megson, Frank Burrows or Ian Holloway.

Mercury reporter tweeting that there will be 'good news' regarding Nugent in tomorrow's paper.

Probably doing a book signing...

Agreed:thumbs_up.....I saw him play a couple of games here in DK and wasn´t really impressed....but then I never really understood the Rab Douglas appointment either!
Most people I know over here (and the media!) were very surprised when he had reportedly attracted interest from Leicester:102:.

He looked awful in the pre-season friendly at Quorn.
