I know that some/most of these names are pure press speculation, but does anyone else think that, after almost four months in which to increase the size of the squad, this 'last week of the sales' rush looks a little unseemly? :102:

The week before the window closes is usually the busiest for transfer activity, it's not unique to us.

We may have been trying to sign players for that long, but for whatever reason the selling club, or the player, decided not to come to us, or to wait and see what other offers are on the table. It's not necessarily as simple as people seem to think it is. We can't just click our fingers and expect the other parties involved to just agree to it.

Possibly. But it doesn't really matter what's happened for the last few months - all that matters is that we get where we want to be by the end of the window.
 
Sky saying Burnley have had 4 bids for McArthur tuned down by Wigan with £4M being the largest
