Hungarian is completely unlike any other European language, bar Estonian- the people who settled the areas came in from Asia some time after the people who settled the rest of Europe. It's much more likely that this is a combination of the club working at it (a lesson from Kaebi?), the player working at it (or maybe he's just brighter than Kaebi?), and the help of having two here to help each other along and prevent homesickness.

Wild speculation. sounds like guesswork to me.

Most people will agree that genetic mutation causing superpowers is the probable cause. Don't you watch the gogglebox?

Agree with you hector - I am good at languages and find Hungarian difficult. I cope with cyrillic and the diacritic slavic but Hungarian - sod it!

I've just read the brain surgery entry on wikipedia. Anyone want a labotomy?

While we're telling blatant lies I think you should know I'm a fourteen year old girl and would like to swap nudey photos with likeminded children.

disclaimer: I know nothing about brain surgery and am not a young girl or interested in them....unless they have the power of cellular regeneration and can regrow lost limbs.

The Finno-Ugric languages, of which Hungarian is one, are structurally very different from the other languages in Europe. Hungarian has a reputation as being one of the most difficult languages for English people to learn (I lived there for 3 years in the 1970s, and return ever summer - but my Hungarian is still very poor!). All the reciprocal process might not be quite so difficult, I would certainly admire the efforts of a Hungarian who picks up English quickly.

....although I must admit I'm carp at languages generally!

Well if you will take spelling lessons from newts. :icon_wink

It's not that hard, all you need is loads of booze and a large bank account in most instances ... :102:
