As i understand it, the offer of an extension has to be at least equivalent to his current contract for the club to be entitled to compensation.

He scored 22 league goals for Birmingham last season and worked his way up through non-league football. Gritty, tough and driven. Perfect for us IMO to be used as someone who can challenge Vardy up front. Oh and he's "one of our own."
