Im at the point where I don't really care about individual players anymore.
The game is so far away from me that I can't really form emotional attachment to the overpaid people who play it.
I also don't give too many shits about becoming a big club either.
How fascinating that when it comes to one of the few industries in which the people doing the actual work go home with a decent portion of the money we decide that they're overpaid.
Definitely get what you're saying about being disconnected from the game though. I've felt the same way for years. It's not the players for me though, it's the excessive commercialisation of the game. Sky Sports News is on around the clock, meaningless friendly competitions all over the world, every club and stadium and referee and throw-in has a sponsor, fans are constantly reminded to bet on every millisecond of every game, overpriced food and drink in the grounds, even more overpriced tickets, extremely overpriced TV subscriptions, big clubs given every possible advantage and immense decision-making power, wanker owners and landlords ruining small ones. Modern football is beyond shit; it's unsalvageable.Indeed, we do.
So, you're on the fence then?Definitely get what you're saying about being disconnected from the game though. I've felt the same way for years. Yeah, no strong opinions either way.So, you're on the fence then?
Modern football is beyond shit; it's unsalvageable.
Not for me. Not these days. I've switched off for months at a time. Last season was the first since 2001-2 in which I didn't attend a single game.If only it weren't so ****ing addictive!
If he gets game time, that would be a good loan move for him. It's in the Mercury, so it must be true
