Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded summer 2018 rumours thread.

Im at the point where I don't really care about individual players anymore.

The game is so far away from me that I can't really form emotional attachment to the overpaid people who play it.

I also don't give too many shits about becoming a big club either.

The idea of football > football

How fascinating that when it comes to one of the few industries in which the people doing the actual work go home with a decent portion of the money we decide that they're overpaid.

Indeed, we do.

Definitely get what you're saying about being disconnected from the game though. I've felt the same way for years. It's not the players for me though, it's the excessive commercialisation of the game. Sky Sports News is on around the clock, meaningless friendly competitions all over the world, every club and stadium and referee and throw-in has a sponsor, fans are constantly reminded to bet on every millisecond of every game, overpriced food and drink in the grounds, even more overpriced tickets, extremely overpriced TV subscriptions, big clubs given every possible advantage and immense decision-making power, wanker owners and landlords ruining small ones. Modern football is beyond shit; it's unsalvageable.

So, you're on the fence then?

Barnes scored 5 goals and set up 4 in 18 appearances at Barnsley last season - not bad at all for the first season in the Championship.

Hopefully WBA will give a proper chance to him next season. I reckon he'll really show us what he's made of next season - anyone know his style of play?

If the choice is Fuchs or Chilwell I would go with Chilwell. Fuchs hasn't had a good game in 2 years, and is only going to get worse. Chilwell has had a few good games, and has the potential to get better.

That said, buying another left back would be a good idea.
