No way, if clubs do not keep the valuation then he plays in the Championship and goes on a free, I know it sounds madness but it sends a message to all of the bigger clubs that we are not be messed with and if they do not meet are valuation we will have real quality in the championship to get promoted.

It has nothing to do with being different If our owners need the money he will be sold. If the owners can cope then they stand fast and I can see a few clubs who would want Maddison we will get 50 million plus, if we are relegated it should not change our valuation. Even if we stay up he will be gone this summer it depends on how strong the chairman is regarding a price.
Running down your contract is advantageous for a player case in point is Tielemans, he now holds all the cards when he moves he can now command a major salary. 300k a week for 3 years is a little over 10 million pounds and would still be a huge saving for any football club.

PMSL apologies slight BODMAS issue there it is not wise to sift through a work document and then use social media at the same time, that stated £46,800,000 is still a massive saving for any top 6 football club, I mean that would normally just be the purchase price and I would suspect wages would be on top?
