Today we should all say a little prayer for Burt Bacharach. Good innings. 94. RIP

BBC News - Raquel Welch: US actress and model dead at 82
Somewhere deep down inside me, what remains of my 1970s youth is quietly weeping. It'll be the same when Debbie Harry goes.

" Many an adolescent boy indulges in daydreams & creates in his mind an image of the perfect physical specimen of womanhood. Raquel Welch is proof that the universe beat them to it "

- Roger Corman

You've essentially put my feelings into words although I'm clearly a little older than you and would put Ursula Andress in the place of your Debbie Harry. I spent many a happy minute transposing the initial letters of her given and family names.

From the obituary by those wags at the BBC:

"It included playing the love interest of Frank Sinatra's character in 1968's Lady in Cement; the titular transgender heroine in 1970's Myra Breckenridge; and a Golden Globe-nominated performance in the 1987 TV drama Right to Die."

Purely in terms of looks you'd have a perfectly valid point. But Ursula just seemed as if she'd be one of those aloof & no fun types. Seemed the same in interviews as in the parts she played. Always got the impression you'd have to buy her a sports car just to get a dinner date. Raquel just seemed like more fun.
