That's only us, look at some of the other fines they've been dishing out.

They manage it OK in other sports, why should football be different?
Probably the "expenses" that referees get for refereeing the professional game, and also the salaried refs that we have, for a start. On top of that, add the refs who are in it as much for the publicity as the players....They manage it OK in other sports, why should football be different?
Exactly, we should follow Rugby's example. Only the captains are able to speak to the ref's, and any backchat from any players and the Penalty moves further back. This happens REGARDLESS of whether the players think its the right decision or not.
People, refs included, tend to get the respect they deserve. It's pretty clear to me that this bloke deserved none at all.
and then roll in it when celebrating their goals? stupid feckers.spitting. Imo there is little or no need for it, yet it as become the norm for players to disgustingly deposit large volumes of flem all over the pitch.
If players reacted better at the highest level, it would in the end go down through all the levels, as they would set an example to the kids growing up. If John terry tries to steel the refs card or roooney stamps his feet and swears when a decision goes against him, kids will do it too.
I can understand players get frustrated, but it should be left to the captian to speak to the ref, no one else.
Currently no one is allowed to speak to the ref, the fact that someone is captain means nothing.
Did i say anyone was allowed to?
Whether they agree with what he is saying or not at that point is irrelevent as at least they know where they stand. If a footballer cannot say what was that given for? How can he stop doing it?
Agreed. When I played Rugby, when you commited a foul, you were told of your mistake and you avoided doing it again. Football allow you complain and get a struggle of the shoulders, tell me what the foul was and I won't repeat it.
The probelm is IMO that fouling in Rugby is a bit more clean-cut with it's definitions in the Rule Book. Football however seems to have referees which interpret and judge the rule book in different states.

Its the same in rugby really, some ref's are more picky than others, but at least they communicate their thoughts. In rugby, most teams know they have to play to the ref if he lets things go, there's no point complaining about niggles. Likewise if he is picky, then the team knows it and has to sort itself out. Much less games are ruined as a result of this difference in culture.
Why are you comparing football to rugby ?
It's played by wankers, reffed by even bigger wankers, and watched by feckin' great enormous wankers
There is no comparison
