Good points.

I haven't been to any games either this season - nor I am ashamed to say am I in any great rush to watch clashes with titans like Walsall and Northampton.

The fact is that some of the posters on here live in a bubble. A couple of wins and they think we have become and should be unbeatable.

Let's try to be real. We haven't suddenly become a premiership quality side playing in the Third Division. There will be teams who will come to The Walkers and enjoy playing at a half decent stadium in front of a crowd about three times bigger than the die hards who turn up at their mud heaps. Some of them will take points off us in spite of the fact that we have a one or two players like Kisnorbo and Tunchev who are probably too good to be playing in this league.

From what I can see - and from a safe distance - Pearson is doing a very good job indeed and given a fair bit of luck we should get out of this mire and back to the mediocrity of the championship - at the point we will need some more better players or risk being in the same plight as the Forest are now.

Agree with every word of it.

Not if we play like we did last night we won't

I'm sure you are right about that Homer - you are usually more right than wrong on issues.....but it isn't going to be like that is it.

It's a long season and performances and results will vary, I thought we might lose some momentum by opting to defer the home fixture with Yeovil and this has proved to be the case. We'll probably bobble around the top six. After all, we have one of the biggest and 'best' squads in what is a bit of a pile of sh.te.

From one I've read on the boards and in the local media, people have been somewhat carried away. Taking 3,000 people or whatever to away grounds certainly says we are a bigger club than the Third division deserves but that and a few wins against poorish clubs doesn't make us anything special.

That said, I like the cut of this bloke Pearson's gib.....he doesn't get carried away and he looks to me like he knows what he's about.

At some stage I'll make the effort to have a look at a game myself, but my take is that things are going very well as long as you don't expect total consistency and too much panache.

Wesolowski, on the odd occasion that he's fit, is a defensive midfielder. Why do people think he'd be more creative than King?

Andy King, the new Mark De Vries/Jordan Stewart......:098:

I can't imagine a single thing that deVries and Stewart had in common - and, even more so, I can't see any connection between Andy King and either of them.

My apologies if it came across that I was having a go at Andy King, my intention was just the opposite.
I'm pissed off with people having a go at the lad.
If he was as crap as some think do they think NP would have him in the squad, let alone play him!!!!

Ah! All given stick unfairly. I now understand. It should be me who is apologising.

I thought Hobbs & Tunchev both made mistakes early on, but Tunchev settled Hobbs didn't. Powell had his worst game for us last night (of what I've seen), although I have liked him being part of the back four up to now. With Kisnorbo back, he will become the "old head" at the back so probably no need for Powell.

Strangest decision for me last night was Berner coming on for Powell. I could've understood it more if Mattock moved forward to left mid. Was Adams injured?

As Fitz said to me a few weeks ago, NP doesn't seem to know what to do to change the way a game is going. Although the depth of the squad may be affecting that.

Irrelevent now, but i thought that weso in the side may allow oakley to move forward a bit and be a bit more creative. With proper wingers like we have now, the midfield getting hold of the ball and releasing them would be enough. It appears that the midfield doesnt get the game by the scruff of the neck right now.

A little unfair considering how few games we've lost.

In the league I think we've only been behind in 2 games and one of those we came back to draw.

Fans are fickle

Tell me about it, I was in despair on Tuesday. I know the performance wasn't the best but there were fans booing near me and constantly berating the players all game. We are/were second in the league, only lost once all season and were trying to win the game, despite the lack of ideas. I really do not understand it sometimes.

Unfortunately the typical football fan has an IQ of about 6.

It was quite embarrassing, to be honest

They were even booing sideways/backwards passes, and almost every pass that went astray. Have to say that this clubs (home) fans are becoming just about the worst in the business
