I still have hopes of the play-offs because I believe it is possible we may make big changes in the January window. However, whether we reach them or not I hope the Thais will keep Sven. I believe the most important time for a manager is the close season and managers should not be judged until they have had a close season.

All of these posts are from people who obviously didnt go to the match.

No, unless you contribute towards my travel and ticket costs.

It seems that BG wants to do a Murdoch and create a Paywall for his views. Is talking balls going to do a deal with Paypal so that we can hear his no doubt very valuable views?

Meanwhile can someone else who was there please analyse what went wrong. I understand that one of the goals was a Weale error. What about the others? Watching home games only I have been less impressed by Abe than most people - did he play well or badly.

How did Vassall and Bednar play? By now Vassall should have become match fit - did he ever look like scoring.

Now that I've watched the 30 seconds of highlights of the 5 goals on the FLS, I feel as though I can comment on the performances of the team...

Shocking marking for the first, and a Weale howler for the 2nd (although tbf it looked like a reasonable decision to come out and the pitch looked unpredictable). Their 3rd didn't look much better either.

I can understand the reasons for spending money if its there to strengthen the squad in January. But January is an over - expensive market and doubt if a season of continuous change will achieve the consistency we lack.

I agree Sven is as good as it gets these days in terms of a Leicester manager. I'm afraid the Sousa experience has probably ruled out any decent chance of promotion for these season.

My gut feeling is that failure to achieve promotion wouldn't carry the risk of the Thais getting rid of Sven and the more likely scenario is that Sven having shown that he can still make a difference and being a guy who prepared to listen other opportunities- might well move on at the end of the season.

We were very poor in the first half - like we didn't want to be there or we thought Watford would roll over.

It was frighteningly easy as they seemed to just get the ball in and around our box and score no problem.

We came out much, much better second half and actually looked like we wanted to fight for a result. However as soon as it went 2-2 we seemed to switch off again, almost as if we couldn't believe we'd actually drawn it level.

Overall a very disappointing today and our hideous inconsistency continues.

This time last year we'd just had our F*rest/Bristol City dip and were out of the playoff places. The last 26 games gave us a haul of 45 points, enabling us to make the playoffs with points to spare.

Repeat last season's post-November form and we finish with 70 points, the number Blackpool got in 6th place..

We're as good as promoted.

Missed match commentary but heard post match Sven interview. He did not duck questions about poor first half and why Fryatt is not playing. Seemed very certain of his expectations and it was clear that Fryatt was not in the squad because he is underperforming in training. This I find surprising as interviews with other players suggest they would swim icy rivers for him!

A few surprisingly sensible phone-in points made, including:

Dyer ought to get more pitch time because of his speed to carve through defences.
Abe is developing into an awesome player, covering everywhere, making great passes and big tackles.
We need a couple more players that can play with 'controlled aggression', like experienced players such as Wellens and Howard. We need to be able to win dirty as well as pretty.

This would suggest that Fryatt could be on his way out in January... probably best for him and us.

First away game of the season yesterday & the first half was nothing short of a shambles. We couldn't string two passes together, Wellens, Gallagher, Abe, King & Cunningham all passed the ball out of play for a throw multiple times. Weale's howler obviously didn't help but we thoroughly got what we deserved and were probably lucky to be only 2 down at half time.

That being said, the first 25-30 mins of the second half were fantastic. Bednar 'scored' - I haven't seen the highlights yet but I thought it was a definite goal from where I was sitting. Gallagher looked more interested, Abe ran the show, Wellens was himself & when Howard was bought on instead of Bednar we looked a much bigger threat as Bednar couldn't cope with Martin Taylor. A few times in the second half the defence was nowhere & it took a toe from Hobbs or a last ditch tackle from Davies/Hobbs to save us from probably going 3-2 down earlier. Gallagher missed an absolute sitter of a header, anywhere but where he headed it he would've scored. Abe also had a guilt edge chance to score. We could've then been 4-2 up and well out of sight. We were punished for poor marking from the corner & as much as we attacked in the dying embers we couldn't get through again & looked lost for ideas.

A draw really would've been a fair result, both teams had a 30 mins of a half each & then the other got back in at the end of the half. But we were punished for errors & poor defending.
