First away game of the season yesterday & the first half was nothing short of a shambles. We couldn't string two passes together, Wellens, Gallagher, Abe, King & Cunningham all passed the ball out of play for a throw multiple times. Weale's howler obviously didn't help but we thoroughly got what we deserved and were probably lucky to be only 2 down at half time.

That being said, the first 25-30 mins of the second half were fantastic. Bednar 'scored' - I haven't seen the highlights yet but I thought it was a definite goal from where I was sitting. Gallagher looked more interested, Abe ran the show, Wellens was himself & when Howard was bought on instead of Bednar we looked a much bigger threat as Bednar couldn't cope with Martin Taylor. A few times in the second half the defence was nowhere & it took a toe from Hobbs or a last ditch tackle from Davies/Hobbs to save us from probably going 3-2 down earlier. Gallagher missed an absolute sitter of a header, anywhere but where he headed it he would've scored. Abe also had a guilt edge chance to score. We could've then been 4-2 up and well out of sight. We were punished for poor marking from the corner & as much as we attacked in the dying embers we couldn't get through again & looked lost for ideas.

A draw really would've been a fair result, both teams had a 30 mins of a half each & then the other got back in at the end of the half. But we were punished for errors & poor defending.

What a fantastic, comprehensive explanation of what happened. LCFC should be paying you to go to every away game so you can give us this.

Thanks very much!

I think he did a good job for wrapping up the game for people that didn't attend and only watched 30 seconds on FLS. So i don't see the point of your sarcasm.

I didn't see it as sarcasm. I too thought it was an excellent post.

Weale looked sufficiently confident for most of last year. Shame that he's lost a bit of his confidence.

At best he has been quietly competent, rather than class. I'm being hard on the bloke, but I think his level is decent championship 'keeper and no higher.

So, he should probably be playing for a mid-table, run-of-the-mill, not bad but not that good sort of Championship side then? Like Leicester? :icon_bigg

To be honest, I'm surprised people are talking more about Weale than about the bloke who stole Hobbs' shirt on Saturday. He'd clearly never played football in his life.

.

Did you know BM that Weale has only conceded like 71 goals in 69 appearances or something like that. It was a goal a game before Saturday. Whereas Logan.....

Yeah, that's what we need - more people getting freebies from the club :icon_roll
Hey, you cheeky buggar- if I lived anywhere near Leicester I'd be going to every game. Unfortunately Lancaster isn't.

That was not sarcasm. I was being totally genuine.

Weale...never been a fan. Such a shame about Kirkland.

We need a new keeper, I've felt this way for a long time.

I always thought Weale was solid but unspectacular. I worry I'm starting to be proven wrong

There's plenty of people who live as far away as you do and manage to go a lot of games.....

Who are students without a car?

fair point though- I appreciate what you're saying. I'm going to three over the christmas break, went to all the home games before I left, and came back to travel four hours to Swansea...
Is that better?

oh, I was also there when we beat Preston 2-0 at the end of last season.
Yes, 2-0. Gallagher's goal should have counted.

Ignore BF, she misses tons of games and she lives in feckin' Earl Shilton.

Oh yeah, and ask her why she missed QPR away last season. Go on :icon_lol:

I was in Manchester watching Green Day.

Same as the year before I missed BRizzle Rovers and this year I missed Preston cos I was in Manchester.

I could go all the games if I wanted to, I just would have to not pay any bills to afford it!:icon_bigg

Point being, that is what we will continue to be with players like Weale in goal. I expect Sven has no plans on us being mid-table or run-of-the-mill in the long term.
