we also have a big hole on our right wing which Ricardo could fill nicely
I think it will depend, we’ll have to see if we buy a left back
Well it’s a bit obvious if we buy a LB then Castagne might play behind Ricardo, but at the moment there is nothing to suggest we are after a LB is there?

I believe Castagne was bought to mainly fill the LB berth and fill in other positions as and when required. If he is as good on the left as his cameo performance at the weekend on the opposite flank then I believe we have upgraded on Chilwell already with half of the transfer fee still in the bank.

Over this season I see us bedding in Thomas at LB and then if we can hang on to our defensive players and add a CB or two then we have a very strong back line indeed, with very good attacking full-back options.

Suspect this thread would've been much longer if we'd lost...

It's a sign of how far we have come that we take a 3-0 win against any Prem team, even one that is very likely to struggle, for granted.

I'm definitely feeling more optimistic for this season after that.

Yep.

To be fair, West Brom were shit.
But so is everyone so should be a reasonable season. I'm glad we don't have to play Europa League games until the competition proper. That would have been a problem.
