What do I think of Allen so far? It's obviously far too early to give a definitive opinion, but I quite like the approach he's taking with the players. It might seem a bit eccentric to some, but if it's the way he works and it gets results, more power to his elbow. After all its results he will ultimately be judged on.

I like him. Most interesting thing to happen to Leicester since MON left. He wants to make things happen. It might be a disaster but I don't think it will - in any case we won't die wondering. Reminds me of Mandaric. Oh, erm, hang on, I was sceptical about him! Oh well, consistency is over-rated.

I like that we're signing players I've not heard of. That always suggests that the management/scouts are doing some research. I like that we've signed an Iranian winger with 50 caps. More please.

Personally I am liking the fact that Allen seems to be very professional and astute in his approach. He seems to be very straight talking and direct which is something that I like. He calls a spade a spade if you like. Something the last two incumbents (at least) didnt do.

As for the signings we will have to wait and see.

Running a football team is not just about what happens on the pitch. Some people may not like his signings, the way he communicates, the way his previous teams have played, his coaching style, his haircut etc.

I'm sure the people who have said they're not impressed will change their mind if the team does perform on the pitch. Just as I'm sure those who say they are impressed will change their mind after a few bad results.

Personally I find discussing the contracts of your employees in public, and especially with your customers very unprofessional.

If I was Shaun Newton, I would be feeling very embarassed and very pissed off right now that comments made in a private meeting were being made public by my boss. That's if MA is telling the truth of course.

I agree. MA might as well have said. Ive given SN a deal but ive told him he needs to pull his finger out cos he looked shite in half the games Ive seen. unprofessional.

Or...

He is spending a sensible amount of money on a player with whom he requires maximum effort otherwise it won't be extended past the year. He maintained he would make this the clause and that his style is to lay down the gauntlet.

Surely as City fans we're happy at this?

There are people in all professions who set out to make an immediate impact in their new job by being 'very different'. Nothing wrong with that - except in many cases it seems to go hand in hand with failure to win respect in the longer term.

I guess everyone would probably agree that MA's communication style is not the main issue - obviously it will be the results.that count. But I just sense that he may be setting himself up for some ridicule further down the line.

We shall see.

Ridiculed for being honest, open and communicating from the horse's mouth.

Funny world.

I guess one could call it naive, but then I think that's a tad sad.

Nobody should be discussing details of private meetings in public. I like what MA said about Newton, my issue is that he should never have said it.

Personally, I may have came out of that meeting fully motivated and ready to earn my place in next years Premier League squad. But, as soon as I saw my boss going public with my kick-up-the-arse it would knock any motivation right out of me.

I doubt MA would like it if MM went public on the details of his own personal contract and that he's fecked off out of the club if we don't get promotion.
