As an alternative to the watching TV thread, what have you actually been out to see live ... shows, gigs, stand-up etc.

I'll get the ball rolling with an excellent night at The Stables in Milton Keynes watching stand up comic Simon Evans. Very funny man, did two 50 (ish) minute sets covering a multitude of topics.

I was even able to watch it in the company of an excellent pint of Doombar.

All in all, a damn good night.

(Perhaps a mod would be good enough to take out the surplus i from the title ... thanks)

Last month me and t'other half went to see the Local Natives at The Scala in London.

They were utterly fantastic, one of the best live gigs I have seen. The warm up act Balthazar were also very good.

I'm going to see Micky Flanagan In Leicester next month, can't wait.

In the past (obviously!), Three Degrees, Mud, Motorhead, Girls School and Tommy Cooper among others.

Later this year it will be Bruce Springsteen, Blondie and The Lightning Seeds.

In the past I have many I could list, these days not so many. Can I post nostalgic things in here?

We are seeing them at Cannock Chase Forest as part of the Forestry Commission's 'forestlive' events.

Bit too many mentions of the word 'forest' for my liking but still :icon_lol:

I went to see the State Ballet Academy of Minsk performing The Nutcracker in England last year. Prefer the Kiev academy.

The Stone Roses, Sydney last week. 3 great musicians and one pub karaoke clown.

I just felt a bit old, maybe Australia crowds are rubbish, but I just wanted to be 15 again. Too much filming on phones and singing couples holding hands for my liking.

Went to a pub round the corner afterwards that was taken over by the English and had a good beered up homesick singalong.

Bloody foreigners. Going over there taking their beer, singing rowdy songs and not integrating with the locals...............

were going to Sherwood pines part of the same do with the F****try commission, Centre Parcs just round the corner, so a couple of lodges booked and copious amounts of alcohol at the ready

A few weeks back I went to see TV Smith doing a free gig in a pub.
A fine performance and a fine gent, I even bought a book from him there. Years ago I'd buy t-shirts at gigs, now I buy a book.

You are right, a good man. It also reminds me to raid my memory bank for thoughts and images of the delicious Gaye Advert.

Seeing Bill Bailey and Adam Buxton later this year. I saw Bill Bailey a couple of years ago and his show was excellent, despite only being a bit of an upgrade of an old routine - which I didn't know at the time because my girlfriend surprised me with the tickets.

Desperate to see Stewart Lee too.
