Rubbish about 17 year old chavs, I often see fully grown adults kicking off at these kind of games.

OK ignore me then, enjoy the walk back over the bridge to the Meadow Club when you reach the "Home Fans" only L& V pub.......
I will ignore you, as I have been there with loads of Leicester fans for the last five/six games with Forest. Clearly you have not.

Nope, but I park just down from there and there are signs saying "Home fans only" plus I go to the Notts cricket games and talk to the staff there.

However, feel free to ignore me as you obviously know best - http://www.footballgroundguide.com/nottingham_forest/

The away fans favourite the Larwood & Voce has now become a home fans only pub as have most other pubs within the vicinity of the City Ground. Audrey MacDonald a visiting Hartlepool fan informs me; 'After trying to no avail to find a pub near to the ground that would allow in away fans, the Police directed us to the Meadow Club which is the Notts County Supporters Club. The Club was okay but a bit short on bar staff'. Also on Meadow Lane is the Trent Navigation Inn, which serves real ales from the nearby Magpie Brewery.

I don't know, you try and help folk ..........

If I get the 10:36 from Harborough is there a chance that I will esacpe the police escort?

That will get into Nottingham at approx 11.20am? KO is 1pm Harbs, so you'l be arriving in the thick of it IMO.

Yeah about right, thanks for your help. That's annoying so I'll get taken to a pub where I'll just have to stand outside like an idiot. :icon_roll

If you hang around and don't make yourself look obvious, you can exit the station via the central bridge. Unless your planning on heading in to town, you will need to leave at the 'opposite' end to the trams. - However this is the probable route the old bill will frog march the large groups. Hooters might be an option (you'l pass this on the way to the ground) if your alone, but everywhere will be busy.

Yeah I think I will hang around and try to escape the escort. I really hate police escorts I don't know what the police think they achieve by doing them, hooligans will not travel at the peak time on a train full of fans where they know the police will be surely they will pre plan if they want to fight. It's a joke.

Ever thought about being a bit discreet as to your allegiances when on the trains? Seems to me that if you weren't obviously a City fan to police officers you would be free to roam at your own merriment?

Perhaps it doesn't work like that though, don't have much experience with it.

Generally if you are not wearing colours they will assume you are a Leicester fan and attempt to put you in the escort. Hasn't happened to me for aeons because a) me and my fellow travellers tend to hang back and b) we are of a certain age now. It tends to help that normally, as we travel from London, we are not on a direct train from Leicester, but obviously that would not apply on Saturday.
