Eh?...because it's easier for you to go & read the original thread than it is for me to write it all out again! As for whatever the f*ck it is,well,if this thread is called Worrying Times At Belvoir Drive 2...then maybe you could take a wild punt at what the 1st one might be called & go find it? Not hard really.

Easier for who? Certainly not me.

In the history of talkingballs I don't think I've ever seen anybody start a thread that required prior research before being able to make any sense out of it!

I have a strong suspicion that if I go hunting for this obscure thread from whenever it was, that I will be none the wiser.

Until we have played a few competitive games it is impossible to say whether Alistair Smith has been an influence for good or bad. At this moment in time we are merely speculating and have no need to take a stance one way or another.

Fair enough then.Just read the OS interview with Alistair Smith & then in your head change the title of this thread to "Mr.Smith is a tosser & a waste of the club's money & it makes me mad" The you'll hopefully understand everything.

I dont want to be involved in any kind or argument with someone who has an avatar as good as yours as it means you obviously have very good musical taste.I do tend to judge people a lot by the music they like (although sometimes i admit it hasnt been a good idea)

After a few competitive games we'll be able to judge how good MA & the players are.Mr.S will still be a pointless cnut

So he is not part of the team? :102:

LOL...thats brilliant! You couldn't have said that better if you'd tried.
it's part of that orthodoxy i was on about earlier.

One of the things that consultants always focus on is "the team"

Teambuilding
Team Mentality
Team Focused
Part of the Team

The thing is that you eventually realise that everyone is part of the team except THEM.They get paid on a fee basis which means that even if their methods have no effect or are actually harmful they still get paid.Everyone else however, who are paid wages or salaries are totally fecked if the company goes under or has to make job cuts.
You have to hand it to them really,as a business model it really can't be beaten

So people who are paid on a fee basis are not part of the team nor can they ever be even though they work alongside them. :102:

It's fine when it's all going well of course, but if you have the safety net of knowing your income is assured whatever happens while everyone else doesn't then thats not exactly making you part of the team is it? Everyone rises or falls by their efforts except you.& belive me these people are smart enough to make sure their contracts are drafted in exactly that way.
Paid (exorbitantly) up front (provision of service contract) & then linked to profit increase with a guaranteed failsafe minimum cash figure.
Doesn't exactly reek of the team ethic does it?

I just trawled thru three pages of this piss before it dawned on me that life holds more fulfilling possibilities elsewhere.

It's MM's dough. He'll spend it how he likes.

Doesn't smell of non team ethic either. Your whole argument is a non sequitur as it presupposes that the means of payment is the sole determinant in the team dynamic. You and I both know that is not the case.

I have had experience of consultants within my business. Both good and bad.

How you can pass judgment on the situation at Leicester is beyond me. We haven't even started the season yet and you are baying for blood.

It was obvious last year that the team lacked cohesion and spirit. Whats the harm in bringing someone in who helps the players gel and fight for each other.

The new management team has brought an air of confidence and excitement to the fans, the club and the town in general. Is that really such a bad thing, i seem to remember last few years pre-seasons, have we ever had as much to look forward to?

Don't change a word. ;) :023:

A much better team ethic would be a footballer's contract which usually goes something like - 'You pay me £250 000+ a year for at least the next three years during which time I will train 4 days a week for 3 hours a day and I will play once or twice a week for 90 minutes. I do not promise to play my best and I expect you to pay my full salary even if I play like a complete tosser to the point where after the first month you never pick me for the team again. If I am injured I reserve the right to postpone training/playing indefinitely until I feel I am completely ready for football again. Of course such injuries will not prevent me getting wasted in clubs and casinos every weekend and any attempt to ban such activities would infringe my human rights. Finally should the club go into administration you must sack every non-playing member of the club before you can withold a single penny of my salary.'

Yes great ethic that. Give me the short term fee and results or never darken our door again consultants anytime!

this thread is wank.

the sound you can hear is me resting my case.

Well there we go then.
With reference to my original Worrying signs at Belvoir Drive thread I hope that everyone who commented has read the Alistair Smith interview on the OS?
If they had 'Management Consultancy For Dummies' on the bookshelves all of that interview would be in it.The same old bollox I've seen a dozen times or more from these con artists over the years.
Psuedo psychological fecking claptrap of the most basic order.Nothing new, nothing worthy of attention. The very lowest level of the magician's bag of tricks trotted out for the hundredth time in his career to an organisation unfamiliar with it.
Ker-Ching!
Then off to the fecking Bahamas (or wherever, with a quick stop off at Bermuda to bank the cash in the tax-free account) then a quick nip back to be in the photo & soak up the reflected glory.
sound you can hear is me resting my case.
be honest when you started this thread had you been drinking

I'm not worried whatever happens or doesn't happen at Belvoir Drive.

My only concern is the results at The Walkers and in our away fixtures.

Look - Milan is a bit of an eccentric (or he wouldn't be wasting his money on a struggling football club) - Martin Allen is or is pretending to be an eccentric.

Other approaches in recent years have been unsuccessful. If Milan and Allen want to risk some different approaches then good luck to them. If we are not getting results it's down to them to change the mix....and if that doesn't work then Allen will be down the road.

Give it a chance and cool it - you seem to have got yourself in a right state about nothing.

I know, its a disgrace that they are trying to make things better.

The club will spend it's money any way it sees fit, if your that bothered about it why didnt you go down with your £300 and say put this towards the coaches wages?
