Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded summer 2018 rumours thread.

There's a logic to it then. Thank you.

But perhaps not the kind of logic that will facilitate a move in these last few hours of the window.

looks like Man Utd’s other defensive target Yerry Mina is going to Everton.

That’s exactly what I thought?

Maybe things have changed and there is hope for us this season

The funny thing is, before the miracle season, being a mid table Prem side would've delighted most of us...

I still can't be unhappy with that. Yes I'd love to see us push on, but I won't be unhappy with7 a top 10 finish.

True. But I think we have to move forward in life. Manchester City were nothing before all this massive investment.

They were up and down the league and very average in the PL when they came up in 2002 (or perhaps 2003) and stayed so until 2011/12.

I'm not saying we're Man City but why can't we head in that direction?

I'll say it: I am no longer content with a bottom half finish or 8th, 9th or 10th. I believe we have a great set of fans, good stadium, competitive looking squad, an improving city, excellent owners, and a very recent top flight trophy under our belt - Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton and for the last 5 seasons even Man Utd can't boast that. Though im not saying we are equal to some of those teams in expectation, we should be the best of the rest aiming to crack the top 6.

We can live off that title win as an attraction towards our club for another couple of years - it still ain't too late to build on that.

Maybe I'm delusional but I believe we could and should be there or there abouts every season.

I'm with you.

All this development and spreading of the brand is not so that we can be happy with a non relegation / midtable season.

I don't really give a **** if anyone thinks it's delusional, we should be looking to dine at the top 6 table, as should about 10 other clubs.

If we're rushing the Slimani deal through today, maybe there's a replacement ready to come in if he leaves
It did confuse me a bit, too.

Their league starts this weekend, so maybe they just want him in as soon as possible. You'd still have thought it would be unlikely that he'd play on Saturday, even so, wouldn't it?

Apparently Saudi team Al Hilal are also interested and their President wants to have a 1 on 1 meet with Slimani. Hopefully they'd put in a permanent bid like the other team did with Musa. They seem to have the money to burn in that league.

that Algerian journo RL have on said Slimani had rejected the move already

Ten minutes left for the Soyuncu deal to be done (give or take 14 seconds or so).
