Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

I'm friends with an ex Welsh international, a Championship winner (now Premiership) from the 80's, and he told me the same thing, she was at it.

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

If you read it again I was trying to find a reason as to why a person who is in the public eye would perhaps not want to reveal they were gay, rather than having a pop about them being gay. I will accept using the word "nancy" probably wasn't the best way of getting the point across and so I...

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

It's how bullies work Swede, there's safety in numbers and they gain courage from it, thankfully I've never let bullies intimidate or bother me no matter how many are in their silly gang. Ironic really, they moan about my comments and wonder what could have led to Gary Speed committing...

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

Like it or not, the reason we continue to live in such a heterosexual society is because despite being around for thousands of years, it is only recently that being gay has become even close to being acceptable. Jees, it was still an illegal act as little as 50 years ago.

In part I agree, it shouldn't matter, but, is the over the top flamboyance of certain egotistical gay men the reason gay sports stars prefer to stay in the closet? If gay men acted the same as any other men, perhaps being gay wouldn't still be such a social taboo?

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

I often find it indicates the intellect of the person calling names. I'm not saying I disagree, but the media is what it is, and those in the public eye know the score before they get up to whatever antics they decide to get up. If we are to take the moral high ground about the media, then...

Because I don't go around waiting to be offended or outraged on behalf of others.

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

This may be a bit left of centre here but before you condemn, think about what I'm saying. Have you ever thought the reason some people who are gay don't admit it is because of the outrageous gay nancy types such as Louis Spence, Alan Carr & Graham Norton? Their over the top flamboyance gives...

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

I often find name calling a mature way to discuss a disagreement of opinion. Footballers/celebrities are in the public eye, their every move is pored over with a fine tooth comb, and if there has been some naughtiness, it will come out. Are the media to blame for reporting it, or the...

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

Typical response from the usual rent-a-mob types, because I don't bow down at the alter of famous footballers then I'm ill informed. If the rumours are true as to why he offed himself I expect a raft of apologies, but I won't hold my breath.

I doubt Mrs Speed & his children will be frequenting this site soon so keep your knickers on.

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

At least somebody can look beyond their own righteous ego an hero worship of a footballer and look at the bigger picture. While I have some sympathy for Speed, I have more sympathy for his wife and children, and no amount of righteous outrage is going to change that.

Wales manager Gary Speed confirmed dead

While I can sympathise, do you not think he's a bit selfish to top himself and leave a wife and children and a whole host of unanswered questions? I'll save my sympathy for those who deserve it thanks.

    Speculation Beckham (again)

With rumours of O'Neill returning, I suggest this is Sven's agent Athole Still putting this rumour about in an effort at keeping Sven in yet another lucrative job. Because the only chance we have of getting Beckham here is if Sven is the boss.

    Chris Kirkland

It's only Kirkland's poor record of injuries that has stopped him establishing himself as England's undisputed number 1. If we could get him here permanently it will be a great signing.

Forest,Derby,Coventry so who do we hate the most?

I don't hate any team, but I would say our main rivalry has to be Coventry. Why? Because Forests main rivals are Derby, and vice versa, it certainly isn't us. Just as Coventry's rivalry isn't Birmingham or Villa, so on this basis it leaves Leicester and Coventry as the only unimpeded rivalry.

    Robbie Keane

Robbie Keane is a fantastic player, and someone I rate higher than Jermain Defoe. If we could get him it would be brilliant.

Sven has proven himself in various leagues all over Europe, and he did a better job at Man City than anybody could have foreseen, I am more than happy at the thought Sven is getting the job.

    O'Neill To Go Full Circle

I agree things have changed since then, but one of the managers Profondo mentioned as an example of a top manager was Bilardo. He won the World Cup as manager of Argentina back in 1986, has he done anything since to warrant his billing as a top manager nowadays, 24 years later?

How many World Cups, Spanish/Argentinian league titles, Champions Leagues and Copa Libertadores had Ferguson won when they made him manager?

    Taxi for Sousa

I have no sympathy, what did you expect when you bought a Passat?
  31. R

    Taxi for Sousa

True, but could things get any worse with him in charge? I'm just glad it would appear he knows he has got things wrong tactically, which is a step in the right direction considering the rumours of how arrogant he is and the belief that he is never wrong.
  32. R

    Taxi for Sousa

It's a small crumb of comfort, but let's be happy that it would appear he is admitting he has got it wrong previously. I'd rather that than him continuing to make the mistakes he already has.

Just because I don't sit here pretending all is rosy at LCFC you continue with your lamentable stalking. If we all just said the right things none of us would have an opinion. So carry on, it's quite laughable. I'd rather be accused of supporting another team and offer my opinion, than sit back...

    Taxi for Sousa

Strong rumours that Suzy goes after the Norwich match no matter what the result, and Kevin Blackwell will be appointed. I would favour this move because Blackwell is a good solid manager at this level, similar dare I say it to NP.
