Sofia. CSKA Sofia sold its captain Alexander Tunchev, Focus News Agency reported. The captain of the current champions of Bulgaria has left the camp in Borovetz and will fly to England tomorrow to finalize his deal with English League One side Leicester City. The contract is said to be worth EUR 1 million. The two teams have agreed on the transfer, all that remains is for Tunchev to agree his personal terms.
Tunchev is the latest player of the champions, who has left the club. After Velizar Dimitrov, Yordan Yurukov, Florentin Petre, Georgi Iliev, Robert Petrov, Ivaylo Petrov, and Ilko Pirgov.
The financial crisis in the team has led to the team selling most of its main players. Alexander Tomov, the President in resignation of CSKA, said in an official statement today, that Dimitar Penev will take over his duties as a President of the Supervisory Board of CSKA, while the coach Stoycho Mladenov, said that he would consider his future in the club, if Tunchev is sold, and emphasized on the fact that he has not been given the freedom to deal with the transfer policy of CSKA.
