Glad you also included - Peter Rodrigues - I thought he was a fine, attacking right back. I considered Steve Whitworth who of course got a number of England caps at Leicester - but I think Rodrigues was better.

I just missed out on the Bloomfield era so my team is as follows

Flowers
Kaamark

Rofe
Izzet

Guppy
Lineker
Alan Smith

no place for my boyhood hero....Alan Young...

I don't think I ever saw Rodrigues play but Whitworth was great. Nobody has even mentioned Tommy williams or John John John O'neill in passing. Russell Osman was good enough to make the England team too.

I thought about Tommy Williams but wasn't sure how good he was in hindsight and maybe I was juist a hero worshipping kid at the time. He was never much good after the Spurs semi that is for sure...

Which is the reason I put him on the bench, his record for us wasn't that good but he summed up an era for me too.

Rofe was a bit like sammels to me, good player but just didn't like him.

Guppy has been on a couple of lists - what an enigma. He was never consistent enough (dare I say good enough) but he gave us some width. A poor man's Stevie Lynex IMNSHO.

A lot of us were affected by the spurs semi - me in particular. Ian wilson was a great grafter but after that disappeared into oblivion.
