Warburton to leave Brentford at end of season. Works well with transfers, spotting talent, overachieved. Previously had dealings with Leicester City. If Pearson was to leave at end of aeason, he would have a strong case.

Indeed, he was an apprentice here, but failed to make the grade

Then why don't you forget about dreadful music when you encounter something good?
The LastFM scrobbler isn't working with the new 64 bit iTunes 12 otherwise you could see the progress I am making musically ;-)

I am not suggesting for a moment, that we should approach Chelsea for permission to talk to Jose Mourinho, but shouldn't we be looking for somebody with a stronger track record than this? :102:

I think we're way past the point where a change of management would be likely to make much difference (and I was always rather ambivalent about doing so earlier in the season), but I do think this harks back to a problem some people had identified last season. That is that the coaching team is just too small. The best thing that could be done now, and with an eye on being in either division next season, would be for the club to hire a coach with expertise in this area to work alongside what we already have.

I'm sure you're right but this needs sorting out at the end of the season.

Whole set up needs re-assessment. I can't imagine that it will be enough to ask the remaining players (divest of the better players who will want out) to just go again - this sounds about as likely as the misplaced confidence last summer that the squad had the basis for PL football. Too much has happened and quite a number of players now fully know their limitations.

Pearson and the squad have so far limited defeats to narrow losses and deserve some credit for this. Hopefully damage limitation can be maintained. But whether Pearson stays or not they should strengthen the coaching staff in numbers and quality.

Looks like Big Sam will be available at the end of the season but I guess he won't drop down a league.

Here's a left field one - Gary Neville. If he can be wrestled from the comfort of Sky

Do you really want your name to be held in similar regard to D****s ****ing W**e on here?

My opinion is that he would fit with the good work which Pearson has done e.g the scouting side. Also having a manager who likes to integrate youth given we have four prospects in England youth teams.

Can you name another decent candidate? It's very slim pickings.

Oh, come on Big Sam isn't that bad ; )

I'm with you. Any fan outside of Man U would find Gary Neville hard to take. But, I'm sure he'll be a top Manager one day.

How are you sure he'll be a top manager? Surely he has achieved the grand total of sod all as a manager. I'd be more inclined to suggest Gary Neville would be a right soft touch, and probably not enough of a tactician to counter-balance it.

It would have to be someone from overseas, which increases the level of risk, there isn't any one likely to be available to us who would be an improvement

Anyone who can get us more than 22% of the available points would be an improvement. I suspect that we are going to need at least 50% from the remaining games and I don't think anyone (including Pearson) will be able to achieve that.

I've got a fantastic idea - let's sack someone who in his three full Championship seasons at Leicester has achieved one promotion and two play offs, for some f***wit on Skysports who has zero managerial experience.

Love this place....

Not to mention, a ****wit who would expect to walk in to a job a lot higher up the chain than a recently relegated championship club too.

Of course, should Leicester be relegated and Pearson leave and a new manager from a lower division or overseas be installed and should Leicester bounce straight back under said manager would it be good enough with the new manager not having any Premier League experience and all?:icon_evil

Not a problem. Nigel could return at that point on the back of his previous PL experience - 20% win rate not an issue, obviously.
