I have my doubts about Fryatt. I wonder if he's gone off his game for more than just injury reasons. In which case a repeat season here, apart from damaging our team, would see his value fall to free transfer status or negligible fee level. I would sell with a good sell-on clause in case he comes good. With the fee of £900,000 and his wages saved I'd rather buy an exciting forward whose career is on the up - rather than someone who is looking like he is on the way down. (And he can take Stearman with him too as far as I am concerned)

On his way down! For fecks sake he's had one bad season, and to be fair no previous great seasons to fall from! If anything he's stable

A season long doing badly due to a mysterious 'ankle' injury is/was too long & using the cover of injury is sometimes an excuse to cover for a player who's head and/or lifestyle aren't right. You're probably too young to recall Julian Joachim who was a young player who'd had a good season or two and then went down hill. He was off for most of a season due to some strange 'injury' that took a hell of a long time to heal. The reality was off the field problems (I will go no further on a public forum but I know the full story). Martin O'Neill was no mug and as soon as he came in he got rid asap. Joachim was still a young man and was a £5m prospect the season before. Within months he wasn't worth a penny. I don't want to take the risk of Fryatt being in the same mould. Besides, to me I draw similar conclusions about his absence than this so-called 'ankle' injury. I don't think his head or heart are at LCFC and he can take himself, his ankle, and his real problems elsewhere.

I don't know your age so I can't comment, but I'm 23 so can very well remember Joachim

Joachim had a big problem with drugs, i didn't think that was a secret? not a well kept one anyway.

In that case, you may care to consider the reasons for Joachim's careers' decline. And possibly accept that a player who mysteriously goes off the boil not just for part of a season, but ALL of it, might be worth getting shot of. Unless you believe the 'ankle' story. (In which case you'd have believed the 'ribs' & 'ankle' injury that kept Joachim out). Martin O'Neil was slated for selling Joachim early on in his tenure - rather like Allen might be for selling Fryatt. MON ascertained that what was going on in Joachim's life meant he should be got rid of asap despite him having just one 'off' season (like Fryatt). Sustained underperformance in the modern game in the top two divisions is not acceptable. Kinsboro', Hume, Porter, McCauley & the young left back played well despite bad management & I don't buy the 'injury' excuse either. For similar 'off the field' and attitude reasons I sincerely hope we snap the hands off anyone who makes a decent bid for Stearman.

Fryatts contribution has been nothing like Joachim, some might be disapointed but i can't see the manager being slated.

Very happy to stay at Leicester

As many people may have read in yesterday's papers Wolves made a bid for me which Leicester have turned down and there isn't a lot more I can say about that. The manager called me in after training today to inform me of the situation.

The club has rejected the offer and I have a further two years on my contract. Until I'm told otherwise I'm happy to be here and will continue to do my best for the club. I can't affect whether other clubs want me or Leicester's response so I just want to concentrate on the things I can do something about.

We've been back training for the last three days and everyone is starting to get back into the swing of things. It's a very short close season these days and clubs want to start preparing for the new season as soon as they can.

It's all change here with some players leaving, others on the transfer list and a few new faces like Radosin Kishishev and Jonathan Hayes coming in. To be honest I haven't had much of a chance to see a great deal of the new guys because we have been training in small groups and switching around a lot. But I'm sure they will help strengthen the squad and enable us to push on next season.

I also haven't had much of a chance to see a lot of our new boss Martin Allen. He came in and spoke to the players on the first day and made a good impression. He seems to be all about respect and that is never a bad thing.

So far he's kept a bit of a back-seat and let the coaches get on with their jobs. I think he's just taking his time and getting a feel for things. It's difficult to comment on him because it's such early days but he's obviously come here to do a job and is very determined to do that.

We finished 19th last term and obviously we are all keen to make an improvement on that. As professionals we don't want to be struggling and we have pride in ourselves and our club.

We are a big club with a big fan base and everything about the set-up at Leicester is Premiership. But the fact is that we are a Championship club and we can't go around saying we're this and that until we actually start winning and achieve it.

Thats all very well but you're forgetting two things, Martin Allen isnt Martin O'Neill and Matty Fryatt isnt Julian Joachim. Its an entirely different situation, if you dont think Fryatt had an ankle injury what do you think the problem was?

Joachim had a big problem with drugs, i didn't think that was a secret? not a well kept one anyway.

Only those close to the 'street' might have really known, which I was in those days. His other really big problem was gambling, big time. Some serious heavies gave him serious trouble over this as well as losing at 'legit' places like the Casino.
Anyone with addiction problems or psychological problems or motivation problems is a liability for the team and the squad. There is no place for them here. After seasons of underachievement and the lessons, the shame and the disgrace of La Manga - anyone similarly tainted should be got rid of asap. Tell the world they've got an 'ankle' or 'rib' injury, but get rid.

Fryatt will be off, he has been told he has not been guarenteed a first team spot. He would relish the chance to play for Wolves and it looks like he is off to there, if both clubs agree a fee. This info comes from one of his best mates who I work with. (Same one who said Fryatt would be signing for us)

In that case find out why an 'ankle' injury took him out of the team & out form wise for so long (the whole season). Whilst your at it, see if he will spill the juice on Stearman too, who played twice as much and played twice as badly. And that's saying something.

If you know something, why not say it rather than just keep typing 'ankle' and 'injury'. Personally I smell bullshit.

Fryatt did something v naugty just take it from me.

According to Fryatt, RK brought him back way too soon. He didn't fully recover from his injury. When he was finally fit at the end of the season he was playing a lot better. I wouldn't blame Fryatt for choosing to leave; negativity about him, he has been injured this last season when he has played he has looked good especially towards the end of the season. Some are forgetting a 100% Fryatt, as in the end of the 05/06 season. Quote me on this, if he stays fit it will be a massive bonus for us, with the right service he will get goals in this division wheter he plays for us or not.

As for Stearman, I have no idea why he played so crap. Possibly because it was his first year of moving from home or possibly because he was praised so much and rated so highly that Sunderland wanted him its all ifs and buts.
