Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

This was the first game that actually brought a slight tear to my eye when I saw Richard Stearman's effort somewhere stopped from crossing the line in the 2nd half amongst many other chances.

Bemused, just bemused.

It seems I'm the only one thought DJ had a shocker? I thought he was starting to come good but he's just so weak, it's no use having pace if you fall over everytime they touch you. Start with Fryatt and Howard and we might start scoring, and give Hume a good run on the bench, there's no use playing him on the wings at all

Yes you are.

He played well today, its just Howard I'm seriously starting to lose faith with.

Opinion from a Brizzle fan,

''Good point today. I wouldn't usually have said that at Leicester away, but they should've won 7 or 8-0. Superb performance from city legend Basso in goal. Great game for a 0-0.''

All i can say is .............................. we are going down end of

:icon_evil :098: :013:  :068: :bang:

Thats for hume and ollie :icon_evil

Yes of course we are. Today just demonstrated that we can't cope with any team in this division. Those Bristol boys sure showed us how how to play. We were woeful! Carry on playing like that and we'll be playing Hartlepool next season.

On the other hand, being purely objective on today's outing, did you boo the team off after that performance?

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

Not sure why Clapham has been criticised, I thought he did fine. Not sure why DJ was taken off with Howard left on, not sure why anyone would play Hume on the left wing either.

We mullered them, however we still could've easily lost it.

Worrying times. We play like that each week and we won't go down.

I thought that a strange decision as well Alex, shall we start rumours about Ollie & Huuuuuuuuuume being lovers?

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

Trifful or whatever your name is, are you happy today seeming as we played brilliant football and entertained the fans but did not win?

I think today proves how much shit you were talking after the cardif game.

I would have given anything for a 'flukey' own goal today.

Actually, yes. FFS, we got a point against the team at the top of the table, the performance gives me some faith that the players we have can play together under Holloways management. Before today, I never had any faith what so ever.
I do have two concerns, will Holloway put Clemence back in the team as soon as he is fit, when todays performance makes him look the weak link that some (most) have been saying he is ? The other, is this just another one off game where we play well and then are going to be poor against Soton on Tuesday or can we carry it forward ? If we can carry it forward into the next game, imo, we will beat Soton and then go to beat West Brom as well.

So on your own admittance, you are more pleased with a 0-0 draw at home and one point at this crucial stage in the season, than a well battled 3 points away from home against cardiff.

Im utterly bewildered, i really am, you do realise that if we play this lovely amazing footy and fail to win in the remainder of our games we are probably going down. However a few gritty wins from a few own goals would more than secure our championship status.

I agree with this, Clapham has been better than i expected when we signed him, looks solid and is decent going forward.

Howard is shite.

Also, not only was Hume on the left the whole time, but once Etuhu went off, we had Fryatt, DJ and Hayles all play on the right wing at various points. Now I know the Hungarians were bought as backup, but surely they should have at least made the bench, it seemed so limited today, especially when we had a debutant on one wing and a striker on the other.

I accept your argument, but I just need to see some positives from our players and from Holloways tactics, I said at the begining of the season (on another forum) that I would be happy to see us fininsh fourth bottom as long as the style of football improved from what I'd actually seen over the previous three seasons. You may think i'm mad, but we will never get promotion with the shit football we've been tortured with, we will only get out of this league by playing better football week in week out. I know people are concerned at our position in the league, and with good reason, but with good football we will survive, we can't go into every game hoping for a fluke own goal, 'cause that just isn't going to happen.

I agree 100% with everything that you've posted

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

I have never criticised Ollie until this week, but IMO he got it wrong on Tuesday night and then again today.
Why!!! I hear you ask- Tuesday night double substitution of strikers when it wasn't needed and today made substitutions that unbalanced the team, fortunately we kept on going at Bristol City and should have put the chances away.
Pissed off that for the second time in a week that IH has bowed to the Chavs chants for Matty Fryatt and even more pissed off that we only managed a point from a game that we should have won at least 5-2.

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

How did Hendrie and Etuhu do?

Macky, I have a lot of respect for you, but today you're wrong.

We did all that we could.

If we go down, on this kind of performance, there is no God.

Unless, of course, God is a referee or linesman.

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

Exactly how I've been starting to feel about him lately. I hope you will join me in voting him as Wanker of the Week in General Chat next week.

show boater who is letting the side down

Worst bit for me was when he chased back in the first half and instead of clearing the ball tried to be clever and backheel it into their attacker. Cocked it up and gave away possession.
