Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

That performance included not being able to put the ball in the net at the simplest of opportunities - it was an integral part of the performance and can not be separated from it. Ergo, nine more performances like that and we stand every chance of going down (with a ZERO goal difference).
9 more games without scoring would give us a maximum of 9 more points-not enough.Thought we played a lot better yesterday and the central pairing of Hendrie and Oakley were superb, what we have been missing, balance,a ball winner and a ball player.Etuhu looks a good signing lively and not scared to run at people with the one thing defenders hate genuine pace.Hume is not a right winger and hes certainly not a left winger, killed several moves yesterday by not keeping the ball moving.Thought DJ had his best game in a Leicester shirt bamboozled by his substitution. But we have to start scoring or were as Newts says doomed.Another good penelty shout turned down today just for the record Boc when did we last get a league penelty, been trying tothink but just cant remember

Bit harsh. Boc may be the reason for a lot of the misery in this world but us not getting penalties is a tad unfair. :)

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

I probably am the most optimistic LCFC fan about.....and i STILL think Holloway is the right man for the job, the teams improved no doubt.....i think it LOOKS the best it has for years.....the YOUTH set up is excellent,we have a RICH Chairman and a supposed UP AND COMING Gaffer.....yet somehow the results still dont fall for us.

We need some sort of Voodoo curse lifted from our club as at the moment nothing falls for us...absolutely NOTHING!!!

If Howard jumps for a header in their box and gets manhandled....they get a free kick....

If we score....its disallowed....if we havent been scammed by the Crossbar/Post/Goalie or the sort of scrambles you see in sunday league!!

Everytime they get breathed on in our box they get a penalty and we get a red card!!!

SOMEONE HELP US WHY ARE WE SO UNLUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

I remember Jeff Stelling saying yesterday on sky sports news that if Bristol go up and are as lucky as they were against us in every match next season, then theyll win the premiership.

There was also a cast iron penalty in the second half where their player practically caught the ball as he was lying down. Sometimes linesmen make me so fecking angry

Bald twat! I failed to mention that one last night. I was signalled to the lino to get a pair of feckin spec which my Dad began to roll around their aisles laughing it.

Encouraging performance. Who wouldn't have taken that result before the game?
Etuhu sounded useful.

ME...... What is the point in going if you don't believe we are going to win. FFS they could bring Juve or Real Madid on and I would expect to beat them......

This is exactly the type of attitude of our fans that I have come to despise. A draw against Bristol fecking City......:018:

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

I think most would have settled for a nill all at the start of today. Just for the point. Frustrating that we couldn't score the chances we created, the past few months we have often played 90 mins without creating chances though.

Results went against us today, last week at Cardiff it was the other way round. Very worring thoughas I think we will do well to get results in the 2 upcoming games.

Where does this leave us? I have always believed that there were three worse teams but I can't see this now.

I rest my case.

I would say most would not be happy with a 0-0 draw

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

Doesn't say that I would have settled for a draw though does it??

I completely agree with you. I was one of the dissenting few that said winning against Cardiff to a lucky own goal isn't good enough for me. We have to start winning and playing good football.

I think the majority would have settled for the result

Quote "Just for the point"

We are in deep shit and some doom mongers on here were predicting 0-4 to Bristol.

Doesn't that show some disrespect to Bristol City. Maybe that is part of the problem at the club, we believe we are better than we actually are and should be beating certain teams because of who they are. If we were 4th bottom of the prem and had played like that against Arsenal, with the same result, would you still be saying the same things ? We are one point closer to safety. Would the comments be the same if the clubs around us had lost ?

Maybe the fans but the players don't appear to have any belief.

I do believe we should be beating Bristol, Cardiff, anyone, but then maybe I am wearing horses blinkers.

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

We need to get 10 points from the next 9 games so it isn't panic time yet. If were playing absolute crap I would be worried but we are not we are in fact playing good football most of the time. The only problem is that we are kust not putting the ffffing thing in the net. If one of those goals on tuesday and saturday would have gone in then we would have comfortably won both games and everyone would be saying that we had turned the corner. If I have a critisism og ollie it is that he needs to accept that some games will end in a draw instaed of throwing the kitchen sink at the opposition. we did this against Preston and they got us on the break in the last minute. If we had shut up shop after 80 mins or so we would be a point better off with PNE only 3 and not 5 points ahead.

You really don't know me so keep comments like that to yourself. I show no respect for ANY other british club, every game I go to I expect us to win, otherwise whats the point in going.
If we had played like that against Arsenal I would have the same reactions. Can you not remember when we were last in the prem? How many games did we lose because we were unlucky? Look where we are now

Any game I go to or that the team play in, I expect them to put in the effort to try and win, but that is before and during the game, after the game I try to put the events into perspective. To me we got a good point out of the game, three would have been better (obviously) and with the way we are said to have played, we probably should have, but at the end of the game we got a draw against the team top of the table, we are one point further away from relegation and starting to show some promise that the players can perform under Holloway, which coming from me, one of Holloways biggest critics, is something to behold.

Re: Bristol City post match thread - FT 0-0

Anyone else see that the Bristol effort which hit the bar and bounced down was actually over the line?(Well I thought so!)

If that had been given I would've been madder than a mad thing going mad......

ITV this morning showed feck all of the game, I think we were the last match(or next to last).

Didn't show Hume's two gilted edged chances, or the one Mattock should've scored, or the penalty claim.
Showed the Hume chance he hit at the keeper with the defender getting there before Etuhu to clear, and two chances late on one hit over the bar and one the keeper grabbed on the floor.

Not that I really wanted to see all the chances we wasted.
Worst of all yesterday after watching us throw away those chances and not sew up the game in the first half, was hearing the other results as we walked away from the ground. The feeling of dread is getting bigger.

We need a massive result on Tuesday, at a place where not only have our recent results been poor, but the performances have been shocking.

If we don't win on Tuesday I think the nails will be starting to be banged into our coffin.

I am very close to being in line with it, and that was my first thought.
