Craig does have people working with him that know the English game you know, he`s been mentioned a few times in other threads but do you think Fowler would be worth a gamble ?

I use to think no.... now i'd probably snap man citys hands off.

Martin or Pauline ?

I would love to see fowler come if only on loan till the end of the season but i do think his wage demands would be well out of our reach:icon_sad: :icon_sad:

more trouble than hes worth IMO.

Arthur would be more effective than our current front line.

Fowler is a name I have seen mentioned think it`s a possibility, a big name player may well give the whole place a bit of a lift, however it could turn very sour if things did`nt work out, the guy is a multi millionaire and some may question his commitment to a second tier relrgation scrap, he has been "trouble" at Man City ! BUT just immagine if he did roll his sleves up and gave it a real go, with the chances we create the bloke could certainly make some hay and revive his career !

Agree, whilst he is a talented individual and certainly knows where the back of the net is, the baggage and fitness problems he also brings with him is something a club in our position can ill afford to take on. Somebody of his calibre, but would give something back to the club would be more beneficial, that's why I would prefer Sheringham to Fowler.

No interest in Fowler
Friday Dec 30 2005 16:20
Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has revealed there has been no interest in former England striker Robbie Fowler.

The injury-prone 30-year-old has slipped behind Andrew Cole, Darius Vassell, Antoine Sibierski and Bradley Wright-Phillips in the pecking order at Eastlands and it is believed the Citizens would welcome the chance to lose his hefty salary from their wage bill.

Portsmouth, Birmingham and Norwich have all been linked with a move for the former Liverpool favourite, but it appears his future is no nearer to being decided.

"He [Fowler] is like anyone else at our club in that if someone made a serious offer for him we would sit down and think about it," said Pearce.

"But we have had no enquiries for him at all."

Would absolutely love to see Sheringham here, but I can't see it. Don't think West Ham would let him go, and even if they did I think there would be other teams ahead of us in the queue, maybe even Premiership teams (Probably only Sunderland). If he came down to this league again I reckon he'd probably go back to Millwall.
Would love him here though. Can still create things for others and a great finisher.

For the record, I would take Fowler too. Not if we had to pay a fee for him though. It would more likely be a loan anyway I imagine.

Fowler would be an excellent start, but we need more than 1.

His goalscoring record is very poor, 5 goals a season is about his average. We neemeone better than that.

But he's hardly played and when he as Curbishley's stuck him out on the wing.Trust me on this Webbo.

Agreed again but like old Waxy says we need 2 really. Maybe someone with a but more presence on the field. Duncan Ferguson??
