Can we afford to sack Levein?

Me too! But when he was on goals on Sunday and they asked him why he turned down Sheffield Wednesday, he said it was because of their league position...now tell me why we would be attractive.

We had our chance to make an offer, but that window of opportunity is now closed.

I firmly beleive we could get Lee Trundle if we wanted him, the facilities and size of the club alone attract players above and beyond most in this league.

well for now rob kelly innit then look for a new man while rob runs the ship
for a while most forums on the net are saying the same thing rob kelly to fill in for now

What on earth makes anyone think that would be an option? Where is the confidence in that? Because other forums say so? Some forums want the likes of John Gregory and Pleat and Jim fookin Smith.

Isn't he on some sort of Beckham type deal though were he gets a cut in the merchandise that carries his name? Big fish in a little pond, idolised, earning quite nicely. Would take quite a bit to prise him away from that and at the moment city just don't have it.:icon_sad:

Not saying I would want Trundle Steven, just that it shows how far we have fallen in recent years that we couldn't attract him even if we wanted him.

the likes of Maybury, McCarthy, Gerrbrand, Stearman, Smith, Gudjonsson, Williams, Hughes, Sylla, Hammond, MDV and Hume have shown they are more than capable at this level .

Have they though? Junior Lewis looked great in the Prem for a couple of games but we know he is not fit for League Two. Jimmy Willis had the boo-boys on his back but turned in a couple of really good seasons.

I'm not saying that you are wrong, just that for some of the players I'm not convinced by the evidence to date and that first impressions are not always right. I think we all may have too much faith in the potential of these players.

What I was saying is that they have shown it in patches, some more consistent than others, but with the right application, tactics and formation these players have more than enough ability. IMO at present they seem to lack confidence, passion and motivation and a lot of that should come from the manager.

I hope you're right, I really do, but I would guess that a few of them might never make it consistently.

You are spot on!

Or put the other way round - we are where we are because we have such low expectations now. For instance, the best Tim Davies can offer is that 'relegation to the third tier is unacceptable'!!

We are apparantly content to have a manager whose track record at the club is about the worst (given the division) in the club's post-war history; we have a board that agreed contracts with the best players that provided almost an incentive to get relegated from the premiership; we lose the services of goal scoring strikers and sign non-scoring strikers (or players who we retrospectively are advised were never strikers at all anyway); we are a pushover for points at home to any side in the division; we have a manager who implies in hios post match statements that we expect to get beaten away by any so-called 'form' team.

Is this really Leicester City?

You really think the strikers we've got are good enough?

:icon_roll

Sorry Webmaster - I should have added to my earlier rant that whilst the strikers we have are about the worst I can remember - and I've seen them all: Partrdge, Henderson, Roger Davies, Bobby Svarc, Andy Graver and back beyond that...I still think that even a moderately competent manager could keep this club in the division i.e. finish above Brighton, Crewe and Millwall (hopefully) with the existing squad.

Regretably I don't think that Levein is even moderately competent.

Absolutely spot on Redditch, next we will be getting told that we are damn lucky to have a club at all and we should therefore be grateful even if we do end up in league 1.

The club seems rotten to the core at the moment and the acceptance of mediocrity appears to be rife. The club is nosediving fast and there doesnt appear to be anybody with the guts, desire and personality to save it. We are a big club in championship terms yet we have the mentality, attitude, ambition and approach of a side floundering in league 2.

Alas is is Redditch (by the way a superb post). We are looking in the wrong direction. All I hear is this long term financial safety but although this is undoubtably important, what's the point in being financially safe in Division 2? Would it not be worth taking some risks and at least hopefully staying in the championship? The way I see it is you have to speculate to accumulate. No doubt tosser davies would rather keep strangling the club but also keep it alive so that he can pick up his pay cheque every month no matter what division we are in.

We need a revolution. I'd rather see Webbo in charge of the club to be honest.

And an example of that is?....

Selling Connolly and ending up 4th from bottom as a result.
