Motson used to wank all over Beckham - he just fancies Torres now.

Gally's were terrible, only 1 beating the first man and Konchesky's weren't much better.

I'd imagine Marshall has definitely earnt himself a starting place with that cracker of a goal and the fact his set pieces are usually very good too!

Right, back to bed for me. Concentrate on the league now. :)

I'm sure people will moan about conceding 5 goals, but I have no complaints about the manner of the defeat. We could have settled for 2-0 and defended for the rest of the match, but we made attacking substitutions and tried to get back into the game. When you do that against a team as good as Chelsea you're always risking them scoring on the break.

Great goal by Marshall. I told you he was good.

This.

I'd also say that after yesterdays awful event, the way City contributed to an often at times alarmingly free flowing and exciting game, is something to cherish, whatever the disappointment of the result.

Of course we will all have different opinions about the game, and I look forward to being dismissed as a nutter for being a wee bit disappointed with it all. It was certainly entertaining enough, but we never gave ourselves a chance at winning.

The first 20 minutes were toxic and a direct result of naïveté. If only we could have kept it tight early so as to give us a chance in the second half we really had a chance at causing an upset. Unfortunately we found ourselves in a shoot out and that kind of game was only going to have one winner. It is a shame Drinkwater wasn't available, had he played in place of Gallagher I suspect we'd have been much more solid defensively.

Danns was superb throughout, Nugent too. The fans were great from what I saw.

Foxes do what Napoli couldn't.

Well, disappointing for me. We were always going to be up against it but I hoped for better, we didn't make enough of a game of it until very late in the game. Would have liked to have seen Marshall start. We really are just a bit shit defending, I know it's Chelsea and they have some star players but **** me... I guess we were just left wide open at the back when trying to rescue the game which I think was the right thing to do but if we'd made a better effort to start with maybe we wouldn't have had to Gung-ho it.

Oh well, whatever will be will be - we're not going to Wem-ber-ley. Que sera sera.

We gave it a good do and I'm not too disappointed. But those saying, in effect, that we should be happy because we never had a chance of winning anyway are talking nonsense. Worse sides than us have beaten better than the current Chelsea side in the past. I recall Barnsley a few seasons ago, then a poorer side than we are now, beating both Liverpool and Chelsea, both of whom were better than today's Chelsea side.

We probably didn't set up in the correct way from the beginning which is the manager's fault, but then he deserves credit for recognising that and changing things when it looked as though we could end up losing five of six nil.

Danns. Best player on the pitch. Always thought he was easily Ericsson's best signing and I said a long time ago he will get a player of the season award.

Gallagher. Have always stuck up for him in the past but he was embarrassing today. Couldn't pass the ball or take a decent corner and cowered like a coward when they scored their first. What was he doing there anyway?

Schmeichel. Not as good as he should have been. Didn't come for the ball for their first goal.

Overall, we seemed overawed for the first 20 minutes by which time we were already beaten. Expected more fight and commitment from us.

Exactly.

Marshall's goal was a cracker and the fans were brilliant. Just a shame about the mad moments in defence.

We have to remember how much their squad cost - they ought to have quality.

Stringer: Whose shirt did you get at the end?

Danns: None.

Stringer: Do you keep yours?

Danns: No, I gave it to the fans. They're the ones that deserve it.

Motson was shouting with enthusiasm every time Chelsea got an attack

I was Googling 'celeb Chelsea fans' earlier for a Facebook post and he came up quite a few times on those lists.

If only Danns would forget the singing and app development and concentrate on his football instead...........

Yes, I am joking - MOTM for us by a mile.

Really happy the way that the midfield and front two played. I thought we were pretty shambolic at the back and I thought we could have been 3 or 4 down at HT. Our set piece delivery was also terrible on the whole. Second half we chased the game and were always going to be caught out on the counter. We deserved a goal and so I was happy we managed to get one and then Marshall scored what has to be our goal of the season so far. What a way to open your account for a club, on a par with Bamba's, although Marshall's was a much better goal. Torres was brilliant today it has to be said once he got that monkey off his back. Danns was by far and away our best player. Even though we conceded 5 though I'm happy with the effort we put in and we didn't get embarrassed.
