In particular, thought Abe did some really great, unselfish and often unappreciated work in the defensive midfield covering role, whilst Fernandes looks like an absolute 'beast' & am already looking forward to seeing him develop within the team.

I noticed iwo things about Vassell's sending off.
Firstly behind the goal it was extremely difficult to see how bad Vassell's tacle was.
Secondly everybody was around me was certain the tackle was not bad enough for him to deserve being sent off sent off.

When King came on he seemed to me much more aggressive than last season. Did anyone else get that impression? It may be that he was angry at being on the bench or that he realises he has got to be more forceful if he is to get in ahead of the four midfielders who started.

I was surprised that anyone in the ground thought any outcome other than a red card was even possible.

A word must go to Andy King who put himself about very well when he came on, went in for challenges and stronger on the ball. Their defenders didn't want to go near him when he took the ball across the box.

Couldn't believe Covs managers comments after the game - the way he was talking it sounded like we nicked it - he wasn't at the same game as me - granted after Vassell was sent off they did come into the game a little but you would expect that - our defense looked rock solid - well done City - comfortable win in the end

Liked the provfessionalism, particularly the way we kept the ball and the way schmeichal took the ball when he got clattered in the 89th, moved away to let let the centre backs sort it out and waste more time.
