The phrase "out of his depth" was used, but the commentators are arseholes so we'll have to wait for more informed comment later...

Well out of his depth, his positioning was awful and a lot of his passes went wildly astray. He needs a lot more experience, but the only way he can get that is by playing games. The first booking was harsh but the second was just stupid. Mind you that kick started us. Man of match was either Joey or Gerrbrand, Hume very close.

Hammond........get rid!

It wasn't just Sheehan out of his depth. Every player that came down from Scotland has the same applied to them & a few others

Not sure how you can say that when we had 29 shots to their 6? Surely we must have played quite well, but not taken our chances?

To be fair I dont think Smith and Sheehan were a good combination. Smith is quality but he doesnt offer a lot of protection to the full back. Sheehan often got the ball and didnt know what to do so he ended up punting it.

I blame Levein for playing them together and for not playing Nisa (apologies if it turns out he was injured).

Sort it out Craig and use your brain!

Bollocks. It was an easy game that we should have won. Crewe were the worst team I have seen at the walkers in the last 18 months. They couldnt attack, couldnt defend and we still contrived not to beat them. Rubbish.

I am sorry craig but that was pssis poor.

Where did the 29 shots come from? They must have included Rabs goal kicks in that total:icon_roll

CL has known for some time that one of major problems is scoring goals. I cannot really see how we can levy too much blame on him following that performance, 29 shots at goal shows the approach play is all well and good...we just need a striker who will finish better. On the upside, Hume is getting better and better.

Imo we only played with any urgency when we went down to 10 men.

Because its his team. He brought the players to the club and he picks the team. Therefore we can aportion blame as his door.

Why oh why he played Sheehan LB I will never know.

Ill, apparently. He would obviously have played otherwise.

i cant see how players mouthing to refs and tackling late has anything to do with CL. I cant imagine he asks the lads to do that

Obviously whatever disciplinary methods are used they not enough to prevent repeat offences.

Ok so we should have beaten Crewe on paper and with that performance we deserved to beat them as well, no matter what anyone says. We totally outplayed them, even when we had 11 men! Listening to Radio Leicester after the match some muppet said it was an atrocious performance  I thought we played really well. I know its results that count but we deserved to hammer them. We had chances, with out any of them being that clear cut, so its difficult to put the blame on poor finishing this time. We're better than a lot of teams in this division and in time (and no i don't know when, hopefully before we get relegated!) we will move up the league.

Thought Hume and Joey were outstanding again. Felt sorry for Sheehan it was his big chance and he messed up with that silly tackle. CL must see something in Kisnorbo that no one else can see. Ok he plays the holding role but he can not pass the football to save his life. Its a disgrace he's playing. He probably doesn't want to move Joey from his new attacking role meaning that he couldn't risk Williams or Hughes playing deep. What about Tiatto in the holding position? Or will Weso be suited when he's fit?

  • Perhaps because he's a left back!
  • Perhaps because he was the Academy Player of the Season at the club's 2005 awards ceremony!
  • Perhaps because he has made appearances for his country at under 19s level!
  • Perhaps because he was also called up by the Irish FA to attend a training camp before making his international debut for the under 21s against Israel in June 2005!
  • Perhaps because Paddy was suspended!
  • Perhaps because Nissa was sick!
Blimy mate you don't know much do you? Perhaps! :056::002:

Sheehan has got the potential to be a fantastic LB. There is only 1 way for this to happen. Play him. He didn't do that bad, did he? Worse than Maybury?

I predict that RS & AS will prove to be a top quality pairing in our defense.

Lets not slate them, they are young lads and no doubt have access to the internet. Do they want to read this shit.

or could it be because the only other left-back on our books was given away by our manager to play for another team...

I agree with the above but it was just naive to pick Sheehan. Sheehan will be a good player but today wasnt the time to stick him in there with a 19 year old very attacking winger in front of him. It wasnt doing Sheehan any favours.

We are getting to the point now where we desparately need to start winning football matches and this was a great opportunity today which we completely blew! Crewe were rubbish and there for the taking. Team selection should reflect this but today it didnt and Levein underestimated the lack of experience down our left flank.

I did feel sorry for him getting sent off. The hand ball was stupid and although the ref could have let it go it was a silly tackle that he didnt need to make.

How can it be naive?
